Basically restaurant - awful , rest - fantastic. A few tips about the restaurant: Firstly breakfast.
If there is no milk for coffee at breakfast, there is usually some by the cereals as no-one tries to eat cereal more than once as it is stale.
Don't even consider the eggs unless you have very good dental cover. They appear to have been fried (or something) en masse very early in the morning. If you are very lucky they may have replaced them with scrambled egg ( there is never both).
Fruit - ok from Thursday onwards ( guests arrive on saturday), looks like delliveries are wednesday night . Until then eat the tinned fruit and tubs of tutti-frutti yoghurt (the only flavour yoghurt on offer until thursday, therafter natural as well, but no low-fat) . Better still, go to the supermarket, where you can buy such luxuries as bananas. You will learn to love that supermarket.
Fruit juice - I don't know what they do with it but it is very strong, is it made from some sort of concentrate? or is it just concentrate? If you get a glass of water (if there is water) you can water it down. One some happy days there was a choice of more than one fruit juice and the apple juice is ok. The croissants and pain au chocolat are generally fine. So you're probably best just sticking to them
Dinner is worse , in part because despite what it says in the brochure it isn't buffet style , so there is normally a long delay before it makes it to your table, if it gets there at all......and when it does often you wish it hadn't. So by the time you have finished it is too late to go and raid the supermarket. Menus come and go quite quickly because for some bizarre reason they don't have very many. The waiters are very good at bringing extra bread because they appreciate you are hungry. The waiters are all very nice people, they are let down badly by something in the system, and some guests complained quite vocally to them . My advice would be to make sure you have had plenty to eat before you go there. . . or better still go to a proper restaurant.
The previous review was written by someone who had travelled with ( I think ) Thomas Cook. They also complained about the food and said something was done about it there and then. Unfortunately this didn't happen with Mark Warner.
In all other respects the holiday was fantastic . The Mark Warner childcare staff were all fantastic and my child needed no encouragement to go. The Mark Warner watersports team were also great. These services seemed to run themselves - probably as a result of very good heads locally (Marianne and Fraser) and very good procedures at head office. Accomodation is fabulous too. But someone deperately needs to sort out the restaurant, and have a better response to the guests who eat there until they do.
