“Very nice, wish it was more central...”

When we arrived at the airport we took the hotel shuttle bus and were pleasantly surprised that our hotel was the first stop which took only about 10 minutes!

The hotel is clean, modern and beautiful. The rooms are great and the staff was so nice and helpful. The beds were maybe the best I've ever slept on...I wanted to take the bed home!

If you can eat in the city, you're better off as the hotel restaurant has very slow service, but it's a decent last resort as the food is not bad and there's no place else to eat around the hotel.

The hotel seems to be located in a business district so there's not too much in the area other than buildings. During the day you may see a few people, but at night, it's completely deserted. We went back and forth from the city using the train which is about a ten minute walk from the hotel and Amsterdam Centraal is the first stop so you get there in about 15 minutes total. We didn't feel very comfortable walking back to the hotel later than about 9:30pm, but we never had any problems.

I love the hotel itself, but if you want to stay out very late and you're not with a big group you may want to be in the center.

“Modern New Hotel”

Ibis Amsterdam Westcorner

This hotel is new, as other people have written the rooms are not big but too be honest it's so clean and modern you cannot complain at all and the shower was lovely, a big size shower in comparision to the rest of the room, really good power to it as well.

The hotel is right next to a Burger King which is very handy but apart from that you need to get a taxi into the main centre as there is nothing else around, a taxi to the centre costs $12-13 each way ($15 by the time you tip) but some people did say there were charged much higher amounts, we made sure of the price before we got in the taxi. Taxi's do wait outside the hotel all the time so easy to get one or reception will order one. We were told the train station is not far to walk to but we never actually found it, think it's across the road and to the right of the hotel, if we had found it easily we would have used it.

Be prepared to spend lots of money in Amsterdam, it is definitely not cheap, we found a good bar in the square called The Grasshopper but it is pricey ($18 for 3 drinks!) and you have to pay for the toilet, it's a good base to start at though because there are lots of places very close to it.

Breakfast at the hotel is scrambled egg, mini sausages and the rest is continental, it's ok if you need some food to start the day but don't expect a big fry up.

We would go back to Amsterdam and stay in an Ibis but one closer to the centre. Can't knock the hotel though, just the location for convenience. Staff were all friendly and helpful too.

“friendly reception staff, clean rooms, not too bad!”

The hotel is nice and new and clean, - the bathrooms are lovely although small! The showers are nice and spacious and really strong - like having a massage every morning!!

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar staff were slow and not very helpful....so we made sure we didn't spend too much time there!

The breakfast left a LOT to be desired. There was never any egg left, the croissants were hard and cold, - you' be better off staying in bed!

We found the transport ok - we never used the buses - we used the metro "Isorlatorweg" station behind the hotel to go the one stop into "Sloterdijk" (from here you catch the train to the airport) and its one more stop on the train from Sloterdijk to Amsterdam Centraal. - Nice and easy, and nice to stay in a quiet area. If you're looking for nightlife around your hotel this is not the place to stay! - All there is in the vicinity of the hotel is a Burger King!

We stayed at this hotel the weekend of 22nd October , the hotel is fine like all other Ibis around Europe with cheap prices for a brand new modern room but the main problem is Location because the bus stop that is just in front of hotel's door(line 48) just works working days 'til 18:00h.....so on weekends you need to go downtown by metro around the corner but ( 1 every 20min) + train(every 10min), total trip must be around 25 minutes but you have to pay metro (ticket 1,80€) plus train (ticket 3.2€) so at the end of weekend you waste a lot of money and time that may be would have been better expended paying a more expensive but central located hotel.

Modern new hotel on the outskirts of Amsterdam. Situted in an industrial area. Good cheap clean accommodation with excellent shower facilities.
Had booked a twin room and despite checking on this beforehand had been allocated a double room. This was rectified by very pleasant front line staff member.
I wonder if the restaurant and breakfast facilities are up to coping with the amount of rooms. Breakfast was quite a fraught affair although the restaraunt is run by a very friendly spanish lady. OK for a one night stay unless you like the Ibis chain.
