My husband and i stayed at the Grand Continental for 2 nights this September, and were treated like family. Fabulous location, which we reached on foot from the bus drop-off (you do NOT want to drive into central Siena!). Near the Campo, and on the major shopping street. Our room had a double-height ceiling with painted stars and a gorgeous chandelier...very romantic. Comfortable bed, nice bathroom, large sitting area...perfect.

The staff were friendly and very helpful with dining reservations, though the first night we decided to eat in the hotel's own dining room, which was probably a mistake...they try, but there are too many other places which do a much better job. Breakfasts were in the central courtyard, and lovely. All in all, I don't think you could chose a better place from which to enjoy Siena.

What a gem. The hotel is located on a pedestrian street not far from the Piazza del Campo. For a city hotel, it couldn't be more spectacular. Our suite was enormous with 20 ft. high ceilings, beautiful art, persian rugs, wonderful beds and linens. The bathrooms were also large, marble filled and inviting. On our floor was a public sitting area that should be in an art gallery.

The breakfast was just ok and one of concierges was a joyless type. Don't let this affect your decision. Everyone else was so nice and welcoming.

It felt very much like living in an aristocratic Sienese mansion. We travelled with another family and they too were wowed by their suite.

No reservations in suggesting this hotel as a place to stay.

The hotel is fabulous. The breakfast is delicious and the service is impeccable. The rooms are a bit on the small side but the location cannot be beat.

Our travel agent forgot to order a car for us (Tuscany cannot be done without a car) and the hotel was incredible at piecing together tours (which is not easy in Tuscany) for us.
