The Hotel Axial is on the second floor above shops on a very busy, mostly walking, street just a block or so from the Duomo and within easy walking distance of the train station. It is also an easy walk to most of the sights in central Florence. We took a couple of walking tours while in Florence and these tours departed about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The location of Hotel Axial is fantastic.

Entering the hotel through a single, poorly identified, door off the street you go through a somewhat dingy hallway and up a flilght of stairs. Inside, a very small lobby area awaits. Our room, basic double, was roomy, very clean, and totally acceptable. The room was quiet and we felt safe and comfortable. We were well served by the staff who, without exception, went out of their way to make our stay pleasant.

The breakfast was modest with no hot foods, just croissants, cereal, coffee, juice, etc. but it was fresh and adequate. The breakfast room was well kept.

This is an unpretentious, basic, decent property that was fairly priced, clean and of the most importance - very well located. Staying here for only two nights and trying to see much of Florence in that time worked out great.

We were booked into the 2 star Hotel Maxim which is in the same building but got upgraded to the 3 star Hotel Axial. We have absolutely no complaints about this hotel.

The location is perfect, just steps from the Duomo and a short walk down to the Ponte Vecchio. The room was a good size, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful, speaking good english and helping us out with tour bookings.

I would definitely recommend this hotel.

This hotel was great - a great deal right in the middle of Florence. This hotel is ideally located right in the middle of the city - only 2 blocks from the Duomo. Their breakfast was just okay, nothing special. The room was comfortable and clean.
