An easy walk to everywhere, the Hotel Axial was a great place to stay in Florence. Located on the main street connecting the Duomo to the Uffizi Gallery, there is a steady stream of people walking by the hotel, yet it is quiet.
The hotel is located on the first floor of a building with shops on the ground floor. There is a small elevator or a stairway to get to the lobby, which is small but manned by an excellent and very helpful staff. Not only were they able to answer all of our questions, they also helped with restaurant suggestions and reservations (and tolerated our terrible attempt at speaking Italian).
The rooms are basic, comfortable and extremely clean. Lots of hot water in the shower, and big towels to dry off. An armoire to store and hang up clothes, a tv and good lighting round off the rooms.
There is a breakfast room with a good selection of rolls, croissants, cereal, fruit, coffee, and juice to start off your day. For later in the day, they have water, wine, and other beverages available in-house at reasonable prices that you can take to your room or sit in the small courtyard in the center of the building.
There is also a sitting room with two computers available with free internet access.
All in all, we would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably priced hotel in a great location.
