Stayed at the Hotel David last year with my boyfriend. The hotel was very nice, quiet and clean. The breakfasts were pretty good also. The location was good and the staff was very helpful. Came back to italy in 2006 and stayed at a different hotel farther away from the city center, boy, was that a mistake. Next time I'll stick with the Hotel David!!!

This Hotel was everything and more that I read about on your website! And it didn't cost an arm and a leg! The decor in the hotel was charming and so comfortable. I wished we'd had more time to hang out at the hotel; I could have read the newspapers and magazines that were provided. The entire hotel was furnished to my expectations. And the desk clerks were so friendly and helpful. I will definately recommend this Hotel to all my friends.

We chose the Hotel David for our stay in Florence due to the wonderful reviews on TripAdvisor and were certainly not disappointed. In fact, it was one of our favourite hotels throughout our travels.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet of the residential area in which the hotel is to be found and the short walk along the river to and from the centre of the city. There is a bus stop across the road from the David which goes directly to the train station, which we found very convenient. Our room was large, impeccably clean, tastefully furnished and had French doors that opened onto a small balcony.

The staff were always friendly and helpful, more than happy to accommodate any question or request. We were recommended the nearby GiGi Trattoria and we had a wonderful meal. We can also highly recommend the Rosticceria around the corner- perfect for a picnic lunch! The staff of the David organised advance tickets to the Accademia museum which saved us a lot of time waiting in line. The breakfast selection was extensive, delicious and served with a smile- a great start to the day!

We will definitely return to the David on our next holiday and would recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and serene haven in Florence.

For tourists with a rental car planning to explore Tuscany, Hotel David is ideal, given its location south of the Arno river and thus easy access to the roads leading south into Tuscany. Parking is free and the staff are always helpful, with great attitudes. Crossing the Arno on foot into Florence is an easy walk, so we did not use the bus, although that is an option. Gabriele and his team provide the type of personal service that makes this owner-managed small hotel so different from the larger chain hotels that this becomes one's refuge from the tourist-crazed city that Florence can be. We would have no hesitation in returning to Hotel David.
