We were four women, two seniors and two (yikes) 40ish. We stayed at Casa Bellavista in May 2008. We chose this B&B because we wanted to have a cooking lesson during our trip to Italy and Casa Bellavista was one of the more reasonably priced lessons that we found. It worked out perfectly that we were able to stay there as well. Simonetta, the owner, who speaks excellent English, is a wonderful and attentive hostess. We prepared fairly easy recipes, nothing that can't be recreated at home. It took about two hours and was a blast! Half way through the lesson, we were sent outside to enjoy the amazing Tuscan view and weather (and enjoy a bottle of vino that we had brought), while Simonetta and her assistant did some clean up. The meal was amazing and delicious and I'm not just saying that because I cooked it :) Simonetta's husband helped serve our masterpiece and is very knowledgable about wines. They have a large selection to chose from.
The bedrooms are large and tastefully decorated. The linens are clean. The only down side is that the beds were quite hard, but we found that to be more common in all the areas of Italy that we stayed. It was chilly in the evening while we were there and Simonetta was nice enough to turn the heat on for us!
The town of Cortona is a mix of old and new with spectacular views in all directions. There are also many wineries in the area should you be interested in some tours.
If you are looking for this type of experience on your trip to Italy, Casa Bellavista is the BEST choice in Tuscany!!!
I want to say "Thank you Simonetta" for giving us such great memories and pictures!
