I stayed overnight at the Maxim having received a good deal through "AirMiles".
Outside looks like a grey concrete block, and it's a little far from the city centre (although you can catch the bus for 1 euro 20 from 5 minutes round the corner).
There is a supermarket adjacent to the hotel which is excellent for snacks and drinks if you don't want to use the mini-bar or room service, and if you have driven there is ample free parking.
Inside the decor is a little "disconcerting" - yellow walls contrasting with grey-blue picture rails. I think I can see what they were going for, but didn't quite get there. However, obviously, you haven't come to study the paint, so it's certainly liveable with! The rooms themselves are large and comfortable - lovely bathrooms offering a nice selection of shampoos and shower caps. The towels are fluffy too.
The Hot Buffet Breakfast is varied - eggs, bacon, lots of bread/toast, as well as cold meats, fruit and the usual pastries common in European hotels. The staff are friendly and efficient, and I would use the hotel's taxi to get to and from the airport as it's cheaper than the local cabs (it _does_ smell of smoke however which can be a bit much for a 30 minute journey). .
There is wireless and internet access, a welcoming hotel bar and restaurant, and I can see the appeal for business travel. If you want something a bit more "homey" this isn't quite the palce for you, but as a 4* I certainly have no complaints, and would consider staying there again - although i'd have to weigh up the standard against the distance away from the sights.
