IF YOU LIKE ROOMS THE SIZE OF A SHOW BOX...BOOK NOW !!!

Yes... I purchased my room via Priceline, as I'm sure many others have as well. Including all taxes my `1 night stay was just under $275 USD for a single night, and a pretty good deal even compared with average 3 star hotels.

If you are considering this hotel and are planning on using Priceline (other websites indicate that the Molino Stucky is generally available to those who bid for Venice 5 Stars) you should know that the hotel seems to have 2 classes of rooms.
I noticed that on the service carts (parked in the halls) that even the shampoo comes in 2 sizes... the regular Hilton size and a more deluxe large size (I suppose for the "Real 5 Star Rooms"

As a Priceline customer.. I never expect a "room with a view" (hey, but it happens) But there seems to be an extreme difference between in size (room and/or shampoo) between the lowest class and the average class of rooms.

In short... the non view rooms are TINY and if you read all the reviews you'll find others who have negative comments about the hotels rooms

If you buy via Priceline... don't expect most of the 5 Star Reviews to be relevant to your stay.

Yes its beautiful, very luxe, but I've never heard of a 5 Star expereince where the room was more or less a "Shoe Box"

I was LUCKY... I got one of the few "Shoe Boxes" with a view,
I doubt if there are many of them to be had.

If your looking for value....you need to consider that there does not seem to be a single pay phone on the whole island...this Molino Stucky is the only hotel I've ever seen that does not have a single pay phone. Oh and the food.... don't even think about eating at the Molino Stucky... just read the other reviews.

But a short walk along the water there are a few places that were far more reasonable than on the main island, filled with locals and to be honest.... the highlights of our stay. In my opinion these few restaurants are the only reason to visit the isalnd..... I'd suggest you stay on the main island and then with your water bus pass, visit and have a meal. As an example, our breakfast was 3 Euro for 2 people...total.

Also its far easier to reach the hotel using the water bus and walking a quarter mile with your luggage than dealing with the Hilton's free launch.... where you need to carry your luggage down into the boat vs. rolling on and off the water bus.

Last Point / and my Problem.... I wanted to use my telephone credit card to make a few calls... The pages regarding this in my room's leather binder were missing.... I called the "Magic" customer service and asked "how much to make a local call?"
and I was told "1 Euro" probably higher than a pay phone... but since none are available why not?..... at check out my 5 calls were charged at 27 Euro (seems its a Euro a minute) I declined to pay the 22 Euro difference and was told that I was "difficult"
at some point I was offered (since I was difficult" the opportunity to split the difference and pay 50%... I stood firm and finally paid the 5 Euro after explaining that I had a cell phone that costs me $.099 USD per minute.... why whould I choose to pay the Hilton the equiv. of $1.60 per minute for a call? Make sense to you?
Anyway I was shocked to be told that I was difficult and then very difficult.

In closing.. its pretty, unique, but lacks charm
Many other reviewers seem to concur about the staff

I wouldn't care to say here again, even if it was free. On my 3 week trip (UK, France, Italy) I stayed in a varitey of hotels from 1 Stars to 5.... and this was my least favorite hotel BY FAR

“Fabulous!”

Absolutely fantastic location, beautiful rooms, amazing view (upgraded to Venice view). The crowning glory is the rooftop swimming pool which we got to ourselves every morning at 8.30 for at least an hour! We could not fault the cleanliness, hospitality & facilities. We can't wait to return for a cold glass of wine in the rooftop cocktail bar at sunset. Highly recommended by me as a hotel professional.

“Awesome Hotel”

This is an awesome hotel. Everything is new, and sparkling clean. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Can't say enough about it, everything exceded our expectations.

The location on the Island of Giudicia, across from San Marcos Square, is not a problem. Free shuttle boats run back and forth from the hotel every 15 minutes. It was not a problem at all.

The only problem we encountered was that they were having some kind of difficulty with the swimming pool.

Food and drinks are very expensive in this hotel, so we just avoided that.

We were going to ride the Aliguana(water bus) from the airport to San Marcos Square. The cost was 25 Euros each; however, we negotiated a water taxi for 95 Euros total for four of us. That was definately the way to go. We had heard the water taxi's were 80 Euros each, but found differently when we arrived. It may change when things get more crowded during the summer.

Our technique for street vendors and gondola's. First have the exact change ready, then make an offer and show the money, when the vendor counters your offer tell them it's all you have then turn and walk away. We paid 80 Euros for a nice gondola ride, that after being told it was 120.

Um, didn't love this place. It's like a place we would pay $250 a night for in North America, not really Venice. Sure the room is okay, marble bathroom, wood beamed ceiling with a glass chandelier, that part was nice. But...we stayed in so many nice places in Italy that this place seemed so institutional. Albeit we are not rich people so maybe my taste may not be up to others standards.

The rooftop pool was incredibly hot, (they do not cool it) not refreshing after a day of walking. The drinks were 20 euro's each at the pool, (we ordered two rounds and it seemed great at the time, not really) and of course it was a struggle to a get a chair by the pool, eight hundred rooms and fifteen pool chairs. If your brochure or even the own hotels brochures says it is open until 9 pm, it's only open until seven, even in prime tourist season.

Our garbage was not taken out once in three days. Our water glasses were not wrapped, just put on the bathroom counter. Our room was not vacuumed once. They only left us one coffee mug for the coffee service and then the next day just rinsed the same mug in the sink and put it back. They basically came in switched up the towels and made the bed. Working ice machines were only on the first floor of a eight floor hotel, sure there are ice machines on each floor but they are not plugged in or attached to a water system. Shall I go on?

The shuttle wasn't great, I could not imagine going to a city and having to rely on a shuttle. We bought the Venice pass for the bus system for 33 euros each and used it like crazy. The service for the hotel is very limited and when we were there, Venice was very hot and humid, I could not imagine having to walk to the shuttle and then waiting for the shuttle. With our pass we could just jump on the water bus anywhere and get back.

There are no and I mean no areas where you can sit outside without having to pay for overpriced drink or food. Not relaxing. I would have rather stayed in a smaller hotel that had some character, real people and some sense of Italy. This hotel is more of a conference center hotel, catering to business.

“Excellent and Consistent”

Hilton Molino Stucky Venice

Charlottesville

Everything you would expect from a high-end hotel. The Hilton was run very professionally with attentive, helpful staff. Spoke English and communicated easily. The Hilton is on a seperate island from the main island of Venice, but a quick ride via Hilton's complimentary water shuttle.

The hotel is massive, with several restauraunts, a spa and small workout facility. We found the food to be decent at the restauraunts and thought the rooms were great. It is a convention hotel as well, so the business center was nice and there were many people working while there.

The hotel offers a free water shuttle to the island of Murano which was a perk and it isn't the easiest or cheapest place to get to. Overall, a very nice experience.
