We have just returned from a 4 night stay in Venice at this hotel and can thoroughly recommend it for people who need a good nights sleep after a hectic day of sightseeing!.
Our room was clean and comfortable, the linen fresh every day and joy of joys for a hotel in Italy - tea and coffee making facilities.
The breakfast was fine - as much as you'd want to eat from a good selection of mainly of cold dishes plus hot scrambled egg and bacon every day. However the hotel do need to invest in a new toaster. It took 4 minutes to get just vaguely hot bread!
We found the staff very kind, pleasant and helpful.
Although a short distance away from the centre of Venice, the water bus - vaporetto - stop is only a stroll from the hotel. We bought a 3 day ticket - 31 Euros - and used the vaporettos as you would the London underground - but on a smaller scale and on water!

This is an ideal spot to stay if you want to be able to escape from the crowds and tourism of the popular areas of Venice. The hotel is located in one of the only green areas on the island, and is a very short walk from the Sant'Elena vaporetto stop. It is an easy walk to walk to St. Mark's square (15 min.), and several neighborhood restaurants and cafes are close by.

The building itself is a former convent, and is very well kept. The interior is soothing and modern. Our room was very clean and much larger than most European bathrooms (including a tub).

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was FABULOUS, with many hot selections as well as cereals, yogurt, fruit, etc.

I can't say enough about how happy we were to escape the crowds of the St. Mark's/Rialto area and relax here in the afternoons during our stay.

Mixed thoughts about this hotel. Booked a deluxe room through the hotels web site and went with high expectations having looked at the photos on the web site. However was very disappointed to be given what must have been the smallest room in the hotel - not even a bath but only a shower! Air con was also a problem as it was not possible to get it below 20 degrees and this was too hot for us - we had to sleep with the window open.Reception assured me we had been allocated the correct standard of room and yes they did give a top floor room as requested. The larger rooms looked much better.

Breakfast was okay but again not the standard I was expecting. To add to this on our first day we were offered a seat at the bar to eat breakfast as the room was full. The hotel is used by an american tour operator and this means it can get very busy - it also means that they are up and out early and we were wakened every morning by this.

We liked the location of the hotel as it is a lovely walk along the front to the busy areas and as everyone has said the water bus stop is close by.

I thought the hotel was okay but not good value for money.

We loved our stay in Sant`Elena Hotel in Venice during Carnival in February. The hotel is located in a very quiet neighborhood and near to the vaporetto stop. The location is very romantic because the streets are almost empty and you think that Venice is all yours.

We booked at the Best Western website and payed in well advance. Everything was ok with the reservation. We were afraid of that, because we found a very competitive price some months before our stay. Near Carnival, the prices were very high. The room was very, very small, but confortable. I guess it was the smallest in the hotel!!

The breakfast room was sometimes full because of the weekend of Carnival. But on Monday and Tuesday, it was almost empty. The best was the scrambled eggs. The bread, sometimes, was like a rock. But, OK!

I think this hotel is a very good option. It´s in Venice. You can walk or take a vaporetto to San Marco. And you can explore other places in the city or Murano and Burano without any problem.
