Great location, very pretty rooms. Reasonable clean. Free internet access, however frequently busy. Breakfast is okay. I didn't enjoy walking up 4 flights of stairs after walking all day. Apart from the man who was there when we left, the rest of the staff couldn't have been more unfriendly.

Having stayed at AL gambero 5 or 6 times now both on my own and with my aunt , we have never had a bad experience yet. The staff are always so helpful and very pleasant without exception . The hotel is so well situated in the centre of Venice with easy access to all the sights. The bistro restaurant is good too but not patricularly cheap .We hope to return there for many year.s to come.

The location of this hotel is excellent; however, it is very, very basic. The best tip we had gotten from Trip Advisor members is to request a room with a balcony and/or view of the canal. Lucky for us, we got a balcony and it made the plain room a little more worth the expense. For the value, unless you get the balcony, I would say that you may wish to go elsewhere...but, the location is great and just around a few winding streets to San Marco.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights, and had no problems at all. The room was a very small, but opened the window straight out onto a canal. It was decorated in red and gold, was very romantic, with a really nice bathroom. Breakfast was great, with attentive staff. It was very expensive, but I think everywhere in Venice is. We booked the day before we got there and I think they bumped the price up quite a lot, so book in advance!
