I first eat here during my first week of my first stay in Venice
I returned during the first time my wife joined me during my six month Sabbatical
and again, and again.
Sardine en Soar, Bagoli e salsa, risi e bisi, . . . and all the other dishes of the neighborhood at reasonable prices.
So, when my parents came for a visit (my father, at 82, made his first airplane flight, coming from America to visit me in Venice) this is where we ate the first night. They have often reminisced about that meal (my father went for the Fegato - Venetian liver and onions with polenta - which he loved).
So, for family dining, reasonable prices, friendly staff, good simple wine - this is one of the best places in Venezia.
And you will notice some rowing decor - ask about the Regatta, and you will be shown pictures of the rowing race they help to sponsor. It will make you feel like you are dining with family . . . a family you love and who shows you their love in food. And, don't rush the meal like a tourist . . . and sit and savor like a Veneziano.
