Rosa Camere is a guesthouse owned by Rosa Vitali in Vernazza in the Cinque Terre. In June 2007, we stayed in the 4th floor apartment with terrace overlooking the street. Vernazza is a magical place to stay and we were happy we chose it as our home base while hiking in Cinque Terre. Rosa is a very sweet
lady and took great care of us. She is incredibly accomodating and kept asking us if we needed her to do anything for us. There are 2 apartments in the building, one on the 3rd floor (which I think accomodates more people) and the one on the 4th floor we stayed in, which had a double bed and also a pullout couch. The rooms are clean and very quaint (they are decorated with nicknacks and pictures of the area). A definite plus was that it is located between a bakery and a gelato shop! In Cinque Terre you will have lots of steps to walk up, and if you stay in the 4th floor apartment, be ready for 52 steps up to the room. There is a small refrigerator and a kitchen sink and it is fully equipped
with dishes and glasses, etc.; the only drawback is there is no stove or cooktop, and we were hoping to be able to cook meals. But we made do with just the fridge and had lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, yogurt, sandwiches, etc. We really enjoyed the terrace - it was great to be able to go outside, sit at the little table and chairs and watch all the tourists and hikers below! One of
my friends recommended Rosa Vitali to me, and I would not hesitate to send all my friends and family there. It's like taking a visit to grandma's house!
