We stayed at Rosa’s in late March of 2008. We had room #4 which is the top room with the terrace. I would definitely recommend Rosa’s! At 75 euros a night I thought it was steal. The terrace was wonderful and I would never stay in the Cinque Terre without a balcony, terrace or sea view. Although, this room overlooked the main street and not the water it was still very pleasant.
Rosa was very nice and welcoming. We rang the bell when we arrived and she quickly met us to show us the room. Yes, there are 52 steps but as she says Vernazza is the “city of steps” so be prepared. The room has great amenities such as dishes, wine opener, clothes pins and a line for laundry, etc. There is a queen bed and a separate sitting area with a pull-out couch. The bathroom is very small and you only have about 5 minutes of very hot water. After we figured it out, we just spaced out our showers so it wasn’t really a big deal. However, it was the coldest water I have felt in my entire life. I can’t imagine trying to deal with this for more than two people. Maybe this feels good in the August heat, but not March!
In the Cinque Terre you are not going to have 5 star accommodations. Roas’s was perfect for the two nights we stayed and if I return to the Cinque Terre I would not look anyplace else. I highly recommend her apartment for a great location (right next to the trail) and a wonderful price.
