“A remarkable stay in Artemide!!!”

Artemide Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We stayed in Hotel Artemide last October 2005 for our honeymoon to various cities in Italy. Rome was our first stop. After a long flight all the way from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; we were really exhausted and needed to freshen up as quickly as possible. The staff at the front counter was really understanding and kind, to allow us to check into our rooms almost immediately even though we arrived at the hotel before 8 in the morning.

The room we stayed in was adequate and clean. Though the room size was relatively small, but it should be quite accepatable by European standard. The bathroom was clean, and water pressure was sufficient. Overall, the room was better than we expected after having read some of the comments posted in Tripadvisor.

Breakfast served in Hotel Artemide was relatively good too. Everything was adequate, and services by waiters were good.

The location of the hotel though not exactly great, but is quite convenient since it is within short distances to places of interest. Taxi drivers to have no problem locating the hotel too, so we did not face any problem getting back to our hotel.

We would certainly recommend this hotel, and we might stay here again if we have chance to visit Rome again.

Keep up the good work, Artemide!

“The best hotel I have stayed in”

It was with some trepedation that we booked the Hotel Artemide on-line, as we have had problems in the past with other accommodation. However, what a complete an utter joy ..... The management and staff were polite, professional and courteous (surprising, considering we could not speak Italian - although we had a go!). The hotel was very clean; the room (superior double) spacious and well equipped with TV, internet access, phone, kingsize bed and single bed/sofa, wardrobe space, bedside cabinets, desk, seating and free/complimentary mini-bar (2xbeer, 2xjuice, 2xsparkling soft drinks, 2x sparkling water and 2x still water which is replenished every day); its bathroom consisted of bath (shower over), basin, toilet, bidet, hairdryer, together with complimentary slippers and bathrobe. Breakfast was good with a lot of choice - if you wanted to be heathy you could! The bar was well stocked and remained open until midnight and had internet access.

But best of all it was situated on the Via Nazionale, well within walking distance of all of Rome's attractions.

We haven't stayed in a lot of hotels, but have stayed in 5star hotels in a number of cities, the Hotel Artemide is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in, only a 3 - 4star, but only losing out because it doesn't have a health spa or gym.

We will stay there again, so don't overcrowd it!!!!!!

Very unique and elegant hotel that exceeded our expectations. An excellent location very close to the main sights, shops and in a beautiful area of Rome. The rooms are clean and quiet and everything was relaxed.
Breakfast was wonderful and the presentation of food was splendid. I forgot my bag in the breakfast room and when I returned to by room there was a knock on the door and the bag was returned to me. Very friendly reception, all staff was very competent and friendly.
I stayed a lot in Rome, and this one is for us the best Hotel in all senses. Enjoyed it.. We will be back and can recommend it. thanks again

“Hotel Staff Stole from Our Luggages”

Artemide Hotel

Mar 15, 2006
14/44 found this review helpful

During our 4 night stay, we bought some chocolates
and laid them out on the table. On the 3rd night,
we discovered that about 5-6 pieces of chocolate
were missing from the box. We were not happy about
it, but we simply wrapped up the box and hid it
inside our luggages.

Then on the 4the night, we were absolutely appalled
to find that another 5-6 pieces of chocolates
were missing - which meant that not only was the
hotel staff stealing and eating our chocolcates,
they were going through our luggages to do so.

Although we didn't find anything else missing, we felt
very violated that the staff was going through our
luggagues.

Upon informing the front desk of this, they did not
apologize, and did not act surprised about it at all.
We were further disappointed by the lack of response
on their part.

Management Response
HotelArtemide, hotel manager
(Management representative)
Apr 5, 2006
We received and read carefully the complain regarding the theft of the chocolates in our property and we felt sincerely surprised. As a matter of fact we never received, since now, any complain regarding lack of security at the detriment of our clients. Nevertheless we cannot underrate the fact the clients recount. Our principal preoccupation is the sensation of violation the clients felt that is graver than any economic loss of money or object they should have. From this side they have my sincerely and full comprehension but, at the same time, I fell obliged to explain why we are sure no body of our staff may have gone through in their luggage. Please apologize if I am going to use an analytic way of writing but it is easer to explain our thoughts:

1) hotel opened 14 years ago and all the staff is the same since than. The hotel owner personally knows each of them and their families and they are honest and fair men and women. We never had reasons to doubt of that in all these years.

2) we have electronic door lock in which memory it is written time and name of each person went in the room. I personally read the records and I find out who of the staff entered in their room. I spoke with each of them and no body confess to have stolen any of their chocolates from the box on the desk and, least of all, from their luggage. Let’s level with, why people that work to support their families should risk to lose their job for any chocolates? Chocolates which they can find everywhere at a very low price. Not only, each person of our maintenance staff can at any moment eat the chocolates they put every day in the rooms with the card to wish good night. Therefore, they should not have the need to stole a chocolate when they can have a plenty without any risk. Why they should risk to be fired - in Italy theft on the job is punished with the legitimate discharge - to have stolen chocolates? I am afraid but I really don’t think our staff is so ingenuous! And why should they risk to stole from their luggage only chocolates and not something of greater price (you said nothing else were missing)?

3) with reference to the front desk they say "they did not apologize and they not act surprised about it at all". It seems unbelievable. They are usually friendly, helpful and always smiling. We have hundred of letters from our clients thanking for their assistance and cooperation, even from Expedia's and other web sites' travellers. I really cannot imagine what can be happened to make them so cold towards them.

> It's since I received the complaint I have been thinking upon the way
> to make the clients change opinion about us. I am wondering what I
> could say to soften their disappointment, what I can offer as a
> compensation to change their feeling toward us. The best way should be
> they experience again our hospitality as I am sure they wouldn't be
> disappointed a second time.

If they are planning to visit Rome again in the next future I will be pleased to welcome them personally in Hotel Artemide to assure them that all of us will do its utmost to let them enjoy their stay.

Yours sincerely,

“Great central hotel!!!”

Artemide Hotel

We are a couple who stayed 4 nights.
Great hotel in a perfect location in the centre of rome - all the main attractions are just a few minutes walk away - plenty of shops, cafe/restaurants, buses, taxis on the same road as hotel. staff were always very friendly and helpfull. Bedroom/bathroom/shower was very modern, clean and comfortable. We slept like logs and woke up to a good breakfast.
This really is a good 3 star hotel that we would recommend to any couples wanting to stay in the centre of rome... we will be staying there again!!
