This hotel is lovely inside with frescoed ceilings and marble floors and the service is good but for the price, it's nothing special. The room was large and there was a nice rooftop bar. We rented a quadruple and the two sofa beds had mattresses less than 2 inches thick. For 328 Euros per night, I expected a decent bed. Breakfast was okay but the fruit was all canned. Staff was very good. The most serious problem with this hotel for me was the location. It's right next to the Pantheon and this means that when you step out the front door of the hotel you are greeted by swarms of loud American tourists carrying their water bottles and maps. (I'm an American myself, but I don't travel to Rome to hear loud Americans everywhere.) You might as well rent a room in St. Louis, Missouri and see the life size replica of the Pantheon. Next time I will look for a hotel in a more authentic less touristy location.

Just stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a recent vacation to Rome. The location is perfect but there was contruction (breaking up the sidewalk area) just outside the hotel entrance - jack hammering all day long for 2 out of 3 days (they took Sunday off). The noise got on your last nerve if you spent anytime in the room during the work day (8am-4:30pm). Also, the rooftop terrace bar was closed for 2 out of 3 nights which disappointed us. Our room was adequate (good sized room) but the walls were so thin that we could here the folks talking in the room next to ours. At one point, we had to knock on the wall to have them turn down the volume on the tv! It was that disturbing. It would have been nice for the hotel to give us a reasonable break on the room rate for the noise inconvenience. The staff members were pleasant and offered us good restaurant suggestions. Don't know if we'd stay here again though.

The ADS is in the perfect location, central and within walking distance to all the major sights of old Rome. Restaurants and cafes are on the doorstep and some good-value places to eat where the locals seem to outnumber the tourists can be found within easy walking distance.

We stayed at the ADS in Sept '04 - 2 adults and 2 children in a family room. The room was a good size, beds comfortable, bathroom good, service very good and included breakfasts well worthwhile. The roof-top bar is a bonus in the evenings -- a great view of the piazza, Pantheon and across the rooftops to glimpse the Colloseum and St Peters.

No complaints at all and we would stay there again without hesitation.

We couldn't believe the great location when the cab dropped us off right next to the Pantheon. All of the major sites were no more than about a 20 minute walk. Our room was very spacious and included a large soaking tub and a full size sofa. The hard wood floors gave a very rich look to the interior. The staff all spoke excellent English and were very helpful. The restaurant they recommended was wonderful and was only a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The Rome calendar that we purchased featured a picture of the Pantheon and a great shot of the Albergo Del Senato.
