We were finishing a Med Cruise in Barcelona and decided to stay an extra day but it also happened to be the weekend of the Spanish Grand Prix and there were no hotels available and many required a 3 night minimum. I kept emailing several hotels and the Ciutat de Barcelona wrote back indicating they had a cancelation and would allow us to stay just the one night. We arrived early AM and they stored our luggage until our room was open... the room did not have a balcony and was a bit on the small side. We noticed another room facing Calle Princessa that the maid was cleaning and asked if we could wait for it. They agreed and mentioned that it might be a little noisier because it was street side... it wasn't with the door closed. There was only minimum outside street noise which was great. We were on the 4th floor and both the room and bathroom was clean and neat.

Additional comments... the pool area on the top of the hotel is cute and quiet, there was a hall cooler with free water bottles, and free internet service on the second floor. The rate was $388 US but this was during the Grand Prix. The room rates are regularly around $290 US. We would stay there again... close to Las Ramblas, Bari Goti, and easy access to the Metro.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights last week. Overall it wasn't a bad expereience at all but I'd look for somewhere else next time round.
On the plus side, the location is the best, so close to Barri Gotico, Rambla and metro, yet on a relatively quiet street. Also very clean and free water and Internet access.
On the negative, the rooms are small even for European standards and very IKEA like, as in very cheap modern-style furniture and plastic accessories. The bath was a let-down, being only a half size one. The noise insulation is not great and the cleaners doing up the rooms at 4 pm wasn't great either!

The hotel was quiet expensive for the standard it offered. I've since seen a couple of 3 star hotels in similar great location at 40 EUROS less per night.

We stayed for 3 nights on a short break to Brcelona. The hotel was in a great location. An easy walk to the bustling La Rambla and main shopping area, lined with bars, restaurants, coffee shops and boutiques.
It was the easiest journey from airport to hotel I have ever made. Barely 5 mins from Estacio de Franca train station which is the end of the line so you can't go wrong. Plus for some reason, tourist tickets were free, so our journey to and from the airport cost us absolutely nothing.
The hotel decor was lovely and modern. Very clean with a good bathroom.
Staff were helpful and the breakfast was varied with several options. I am only sorry I am not still there but I have already reccommended it to friends and family.

This hotel is in a GREAT location. Easy to get to from the airport--take the train to Estacio de Franca then a five minute walk to the hotel.

The room was clean, basic, and roomy for my husband and me. We had a small balcony that overlooked the street. it was a bit noisy as the bars closed but not bad.

The front desk staff speaks very good English and is helpful. There is free internet connection on the mezzanine. Breakfast was good and served in the jazz club next door.

Lots of restaurants nearby, the Picasso Museum is not even five minutes away, as well as the Roman Wall and many other sites.

Do be aware that there are pickpockets! My husband caught a young girl trying to unzip my bag and I heard many stories of successful robberies. This happened six doors down from the hotel so BE CAREFUL.
