A fantastically located hotel in the heart of a beautiful city! Upon arrival we were offered a welcome glass of champagne - always a bonus! The hotel is located approx 200m from the bustling Plaza de Catalunya and La Rambla, a brilliant central base for your trip to Barcelona. Metro stations, bus stops and tourist attractions are all within easy walking distance.
I would agree with the reviewer who suggested requesting a room on 5th floor or above which faces the main Ronda de la Universitat - these rooms have balconies and appear to be bigger than the internal rooms. We were in room 501 which was great, however I would say that if you have noisy neighbours (which unfortunately we did for 2 out of our 3 nights), the noise travels slightly. The staff were very friendly and were helpful in suggesting places to eat, where to get the metro to and from etc. I would most definitely stay here again!

What more can I say about this hotel. I booked a room over their own website and joined there club to collect points. I emailed and asked for a high floor as previous guests had advised.

We were given room 702 overlooking the front and found it to be very roomy, we had twin beds with a glass door to the bathroom but this was frosted and did not overlook the room. Tea and coffee and complimentary safe incuded and mini bar.

Road outside was noisy with window open but fully double glazed and could hardly hear anything when closed. Air conditioning worked well.
Staff at hotel spoke really good English and were really helpful when asked questions about area. Upon checkin we were given a glass of cava and a really helpful map of Barcelona. Location of the hotel is just offf the Plaza Cataluna at the top of La Rambla. Excellent location, Excellent hotel and people, would deffinately stay there again. Only advice would be to book well in advance. We paid 278 Euros for 2 nighs in a twin room as I booked a few months in advance.
Price on website went up to over 850Euros closer to our departure. Hotel was completely full when we arrived so must be a good hotel. If you have any prefferences of room, email before your departure and they are really helpful in trying to accommodate your requests.

I though this hotel was an excellent choice, I have to comment on some of the other people's reviews, I have traveled to Europe many times and if you want a larger hotel, you will also pay more for it OR you will not get the best quality. Most hotels in Europe are smaller. So I do think the rooms are small but if you are on vacation, the room size should not be that much of a concern as sightseeing and enjoying the vacation should be.

I will say it was slightly louder than what I wanted but if that is a problem for some people, when you book the room, you can ask to stay on the inside courtyard, but then, you will not get the view of the street and nightlife.

The location was excellent as was the price and I very carefully research my hotel and vacation choices, this was the best for the price/location/space. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't want to pay a fortune but values a good vacation in a wonderful city.

There were five of us in the group and was a bit anxious when we arrived because of some of the reviews on the hotel. The hotel room was excellent - large and spacious with modern theme. Breakfast was excellent - wide variety of items both western and mediterranean. Location was right in the middle of the city - close to Las Ramblas and shopping areas. The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous.

Suggest that you eat at Cellar Tapas (5 minutes from hotel) recommended by the hotel and with hotel priviliges you will get a free drink at the restaurant.

Best deal is to book a city tour for 19 euro one day or 22 euro for two days and you can get off and on as many times as you wish.
