We stayed at the Condado Hotel for 4 nights recently and I have to say that it was nothing short of perfect for us. The staff was helpful and very courteous and we felt welcomed right from the minute we arrived at the hotel. I was a little worried about the location of the hotel (proximity to everything) after reading previous reviews but it really wasn't bad at all. The walk to Passeig de Gracia was probably only 10 minutes at the most and we also walked back from the Sagrada Familia (probably 40minutes) to the hotel, the weather was perfect so that made it a more pleasant experience. All in all, it was a great stay at the hotel and if we were to return to Barcà again, we will definitely stay at this hotel again!

Having never been to Barcelona we had no idea of location. We were going on business and knew approx the area we needed to be. Found the Condado on a website and we were not disappointed. The hotel is well situated for shopping, eating and site seeing. The staff were very helpful, the hotel was exceptionally clean, crisp bed linen, great having the mini bars on the landings with complimentary soft drinks / beers / milk. Across the road a supermarket, coffee shops (Starbucks around the corner). Taxis available right outside the hotel door, (but be aware some of the taxi drivers are truley mad drivers!)
Would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Barcelona.

The hotel is situated off the diagonal road, in a very nice part of the city, very central. The hotel was very Impressive upon arrival, with a clean, modern & decorative entrance, with very polite and helpfull employees working on reception.

The room we stayed in was excellent, very spacious with ample storage area, a huge modern bathroom complete with a fantastic shower! we had a spacious balcony and Free coke & water was always available from the minibar by the lift.

The air-con was ok - but would only work when when you were in the room, so took a little while to cool down, but not really an issue!

took about 20 mins to walk to placa de catalunya, 5 mins to the diagonal metro station (1.5 euro per ticket) and was about a 10 euro taxi ride back from the seafront.

did not eat in the hotel, but there's Excellent delicatessant on the same street, a kfc 2 minutes away and an excellent street bar about 30 seconds away! All of the worlds major fashion shops are within 10 minutes of the hotel, and theres a huge shopping centre 15 minutes away en route to the camp nou!

All in all a wonderful place to stay, very impressive

We go to Barcelona often traveling always with the kids. I found the location perfect, above La Diagonal and away from all the turistic mess of Las Ramblas but sitill just a 15 minutes walk from Paseo de Gracia and La Plaza Catalunya. Close to subway station and in the middle of the best shopping area. The service was perfect, the reception came up with a T1 cable to connect my laptop in the room and also plug adapters for my my pda. A frig in evey floor provides complimentay soft drings, juice and water. The rooms were confortable and quiet. This hotel will be my first choice when I return to Barcelona.
