Very good quality hotel. Away from the hustle and bustle of Palma main centre but 5 - 10 minute walk and you in the centre. Loads of restaurants nearby and the waterfront 5 minutes away. Friendly staff clean rooms and good food. Good value for money.

We spent a week at the Saratoga at the beginning of October. It is very well placed on the edge of the old town and just a short walk through a park past the Museum of Modern Art to reach the sea.Round the corner is one of the main shopping streets. The hotel is not really suitable for guests with mobility problems as the lift stops on the floor above the dining room and then you have to walk down some stairs. There are stunning views of the cathedral and marina from the roof-top pool area. Jazz bar on the 6th floor has live music Thursday Friday and Saturday. This area is very nicely furnshed. Snacks here are good although service is a bit slow.

We arrived late in the evening and were given a smoking room which really smelled strongly of stale tobacco. My husband went tto Reception and we were promised another room the following morning as the hotel was full that night. The staff were very helpful on this occasion and next morning gave us keys to two rooms to choose from.

We had a nicely furnished modern room with plenty of wardrobe space but very liitle useable drawer space. The balcony was a good size with comfotable wicker chairs to sit on.The bathroom was small but adequate and toiletries were replenished every day. Room was spotlessly clean when we arrived but after that it wasn't cleaned to a very high standard. It took 4 days to get a bathroom light bulb changed.

We were not happy about security as the maid left our patio door open on 3 occasions when she had cleaned.

Breakfast had an extensive choice of hot and cold food and the coffee was superb. It was freshly made by machine with a lovely crema on top. Well worth the wait in the queue some mornings!

As mentioned by a previous reviewer we were sometimes ignored at Reception (they pretended not to see us). The staff spoke very good English.

We found the hotel very echoey and noisy as rooms and corridors had ceramic tiled floors. We would not recommend this hotel if you are a light sleeper. We would not stay here again.

“Beautiful Hotel, Little bit Pricey for a suite but well worth it”

We stayed here during the half term break. Unfortunately, at the same time last year when we came to Mallorca it was 80 degrees and vest top weather, however, this wasn't the case this year!! I was embarassed with my summer wardrobe in tow , as locals were wrapped up in jeans, long sleeves and even jumpers! Oh my goodness it rained as well, which I have tried to ignore as I write this review.

We stayed in Suite 501, which is featured on their website. I have to say this room is beautiful! Luxury fixtures and fittings, although I think the bahroom wasn't really on par with the bedroom but extremely clean with luxury towels, bathrobes and toiletries. I can see what a previous reviewers mean about the lack of attention to detail when topping up the toiletries once used, never mind, it's not a complaint, just an observation. The rooms were cleaned every day - bonus! We had incredible veiws over the harbour and Bellver Castle, which Im sure were even more beautiful when sunny!
TV - Okay, you don't come on holiday to watch TV but with such dire weather. MORE English Chanels please, talk about catering for the German Visitor only.

Pools - great!! Good mix with the hip rooftop pool and courtyard pool. The courtyard pool also had a generous sun area below so plenty of room. We didn't get to try the pools out because of the weather but in high season, I imagine these to be very nice!.

Jazz Bar - Brilliant!! Bar Snacks great but don't go here for an evening meal, it was so bland!

Breakfast - tremendous, every type of tea and coffee, cooked or continental - even 3 minute or 10 minute hard boiled eggs. Cakes, pastries, toast, bread, bacon, sausage, potato, loads of fruit and yoghurt, juices etc.

The area - Brilliant location. NEar to everything. We recommend a good walk along the harbour, all the shopping, Palma Cathedral, Bellver Castle, plenty of musuems.
Lots of restaurants towards the centre.

Finally, this is a romantic place, we got engaged here which was a surprise but very memorable in the woods near Bellver Castle - just lovely.

“Dont WorryJust Go”

Saratoga Hotel

W have just come back from a stay ath the Saratoga and it was wonderful.

The position of the hotel is perfect, 2 minutes from the old town, 2 minutes to fabulous shops, 30 seconds to a lovely park which you can walk through to the Marina, which takes about 2 minutes.. It has a small swimming pool on the ground floor, and a massive sunbathing area situated in a courtyard. It also has a lovely small roof top pool with stunning views of the Marina, Mountains and Cathedral.

The hotel also has its own jazz club, it has internet access, its bright and airy, and is very clean and well maintained.

WE HAD A LOVELY ROOM WITH A JACUZZI BATH AND BALCONY AT THE FRONT OF THE HOTEL. WITH THE WINDOWS CLOSED YOU CANT HEAR A THING, BUT WITH THEM OPEN THE TRAFFIC (MAINLY HORNS BEING USED) CAN BE A BIT NOISY. WE HAD A GREAT VIEW OF THE MARINA AND BELVER CASTLE. IF YOU WANT MORE QUIET ASK FOR A ROOM OVERLOOKING THE COURTYARD. YOU WONT HAVE A VIEW THOUGH.

THE STAFF WERE REALLY HELPFUL AND THEY ALL HAD A GOOD GRASP OF ENGLISH. WE HIRED BICYCLES AND THEY LET US STORE THEM IN THE LUGGAGE ROOM OVERNIGHT. YOU CAN CYCLE FOR MILES ALL ALONG THE FRONT IN PALMA AND BEYOND ,AND IT IS ALL ALONG A PROPER CYCLE TRACK .

WE HAD BREAKFAST EVERY DAY AND ONE EVENING MEAL DURING OUR STAY. BREAKFAST WAS LOVELY WITH LOADS OF CHOICE. ITS ALL BUFFET STYLE, INCLUDING DRINKS. THE EVENING MEAL WAS DELICIOUS, VERY NICELY PRESENTED AND NOT EXPENSIVE.

Palma is a a lovely place to visit. Beautiful buildings, the Cathedral is stunning, lots of lovely eating places, lovely Marina.
We went on a trip to Soller and Port Soller by train and tram. We hired cycles, we went to Belver Castle. We were there for 6 nights and could have stayed longer.

The only small irritation we had was being ripped off by the taxi driver from the aiport to the hotel. He charged us 38 euros and it only 10 minutes. He said it was because it was a Sunday. On the way back to the airport the hotel called us a taxi and it was under 20 euros. You can catch a bus (no. 1) which should cost about 2 euros, and drops you off 30 seconds from the hotel.

We always research where we stop really thoroughly and sometimes what you read is quite scarey. At this hotel we did not encounter anything to worry about, and if you did I am sure the staff would be more than willing to sort it out for you .

“Great hotel in central location”

This was our second visit to the Saratoga and were looking forward to a relaxing break using their fantastic rooftop pool area. Unfortunately they were removing the tiles from the wall using a hammer and chisel and also working on the lift, after I could stand it no more I complained and received a wonderful basket of fruit and an apology. Although I do think they should have told me about the work when I confirmed the booking with them. So please check before your arrival of any works going on. Saying all that though I think the Saratoga is a lovely hotel, the rooms are large, spacious and clean with great balconies, the breakfast is fantastic and the bar area is fab with great views. I would highly recommend this hotel as it is also so central and easy walking distance to most places in Palma. We loved the Tapas restaurants in the old town, people watching in the port area, and enjoyed a fantastic meal as good as any London restaurant in Puerto Portal, a 20 minute 30 Euro taxi ride from the hotel. Another great place to people watch. Another recommendation would be the rroftop bus, a gretat way to seee all that Palma has to offer, also walk along the seafront for amazing views of the cathedral.
