“A very good Hotel”

Silken Al-Andalus Palace Hotel

We stayed here for 3 nights and I can find no fault whatsoever. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. The hotel has a huge amount of public space and this is mirrored in the rooms which are of above average size,
Breakfast was excellent with attentive staff to bring coffee. A very wide range of food on the buffet and even a machine to squeeze oranges for juice. The hotel has several restaurants. We ate in the cafeteria twice and the food was very acceptable and reasonable prices. The Italian restaurant was comfortable, the staff attentive and the food was good.
As we stayed in wintertime the pool was not avialble but the gardens were very attractive.
The location is away from the main centre but it was 6 euros for a taxi or 1 euro by bus to the city. Overall this was a comfortable hotel with excellent facilities that I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit Seville

“OK hotel, but dreadful restaurant food and some rude staff”

Silken Al-Andalus Palace Hotel

A very mixed bag - location is ok, a 30/40 minute walk into the centre of town but the number 34 bus stops right outside and takes 10mins for 1.10euros. A taxi into town costs about 8euros and 20euros to the airport. The reception staff were very friendly and we had no problem changing our booked twin bed to a king size at no cost. We had a half board deal which included evening meals but soon found out that they would only let us eat in the Italian restaurant or the cafeteria both of which served abysmal food (think motorway service station) so avoid at all costs. The staff in the restaurant were also very rude and unhelpful. On a positive note, the self-service breakfast buffet is superb and open until 11am, the rooms are fine and the piano bar is nice in the hotel atrium. Depending on how cheap a deal you can get and so long as you don't mind being out of town, this hotel can be a good option and by no means detracts from the wonderful city of Seville - just eat in the City Centre!

“Nice Modern Hotel”

Nice, Modern Hotel located just outside Seville. Catch the Number 34 bus into downtown Seville. Great facilities. Beutiful grounds and outdoor pool. The layout and the design of the hotel makes the interior look very grand with the atrium rising 7 floors. Great buffet breakfast. Nice modern furniture and decor. Worth staying at this hotel.

“Excellent Hotel”

Silken Al-Andalus Palace Hotel

Got a great deal through the website at silken-hoteles.es I enjoyed the hotel, beautiful grounds, pool and patio. Rate of $59 euro per night. Keep checking the website to see if you get a lower rate. I did and was surprised that the rate went from 70 euro per night to 59 euro per night. I did not accept parking once I arrived at the hotel because street parking was ample and it is a pleasant safe neighborhood. I parked outside 2 nights despite a prior email warning against it. It was quite fine and there seems to be others that parked all over. I found street parking in front of homes in the neighborhood across the street. I drove, but did not really see buses that access town. Seville is amazing and the weather was great, not well for parking. It was last week.

“Excellent hotel away from City Centre”

Silken Al-Andalus Palace Hotel

Nov 15, 2007

My partner and I stayed at the Al-Andalus Palace Hotel in November 2007. We went to Seville for a City break and the hotel was absolutely spot-on for our needs.

If you want to stay in a hotel that's right slap-bang in the middle of Seville then do not stay here. My partner and I chose this hotel because it wasn't right in the middle of Seville, and we can only say that we appreciated the hotel more for it.

Upon arrival they informed us that they didn't have a room with a double bed, but that if it was ok they'd move us the following day. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even though a double bed couldn't be guaranteed when the reservation was made, they did apologise for it. And the following day, when we returned to the hotel early afternoon, they had indeed changed our rooms and moved all our luggage as well.

The hotel is very big indeed but we didn't once feel that we were just another number.

Neither my partner nor I used any of the business services so we can not comment on those, but the pool and gym were adequate.

The food in this hotel is typical Andaluz-style food. If you do not like spanish food then do not go to spain and then complain that they don't serve sausage and mash!!! My partner and I ate in the Italian restaurant and for a 3-course meal with wine it came to less than £40 for both of us. (Being in London this is almost unheard of.)

The hotel is excellent if you go with an open-mind that it is a foreign hotel so they will servie foreign food and that they don't have tea/coffee making facilities in the room (this is typical spanish so don't go expecting it). The staff are very friendly and helpful - there are staff there who speak English so do not be put of by it.

The shop in the hotel could be improved on, but as most shops in hotels are slightly more expensive it might be better to purchase things in the city centre.

Please do not be put off by reviews that say that the hotel is crap but can't give a reason as for why it is.

The rooms and bathrooms are clean and maid service is excellent.

We would definitely go back.
