My wife and I really enjoyed our stay in this working suburb and plan on going next year to the same apartment.The place was clean, plenty of storage space,comfy bed and the concierge forgiving of our language skills and helpful.The bus to the city centre is at the bottom of the hill and left;If you turn right you come to the best bar in town;Loud,crap music,great seafood,friendly service and packed as hell after 10pm
El Palo is not a resort in the Torremolinos mould but a working town and a very nice one at that.

Okay fair enough it is not the Ritz, but what do you expect for less than £200 for a week! The apartments were a perfect size with an adequate bathroom and a seemingly brand new kitchen. The reception was generally unmanned however the owners lived in the apartment block and they were quite happy for you to knock on the door if you needed help. The apartments were only a 5 minute walk away from the beach and all the locals were extremely friendly. And yes okay hardly anyone speaks english, but what do you expect when you go to a foreign country!!!!!! If you dont like it -STAY AT HOME!!!!!!!

El Cenachero is in a residential/business suburb of Malaga with a good bus service in to the city centre. The apartments themselves are very uncared for and the reception desk was very rarely manned. The sun terrace was filthy with dead plants in pots and full ashtrays and litter around. It has the potential to be a good place but is very neglected. I would not think about staying there again.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in late June of 2004. The hotel is located in a highrise building and it consists of only one level out of about 10 or so stories. The other levels are occupied by other businesses such as law offices, etc. Therefore, it seems that this building was never really meant to be a real hotel. They just turned the business offices into rooms and that's it. As a result, the hallways are a bit narrow. Aside from this, the hotel is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and courteous. As of this writing, they don't seem to have the capability to book rooms over the internet, so you have to call. The hotel is a tad overpriced (50 Euros/night) for what it has to offer. This hotel would be our second or third choice if push comes to shove.
