We stayed for three nights, Sunday to Wednesday, February 2006. They had noted our request for a twin room with a view, non-smoking. They apologised that the rooms with the best view had king-size beds. We asked to see the twin-bedded and it was no problem - 13th floor on the corner with a picture window on two sides, lovely views over the city, facing the cathedral. The room was spacious, with a balcony and marble bathroom with power shower, bidet and great fittings. Toiletries were replenished daily and extra blankets were provided when requested. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choice, from cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats and various pastries, choice of full cream, low fat or soya milk. We didnt eat in the restaurant as there were lots of great places nearby - would recommend a small restaurant Gorki, eat outdoors, great menu choices, around 8 or 9 euros for mains. The hotel pool was closed (only open summer months) and the leisure centre was closed when we visited on Sunday. The free mini-bar was appreciated - water, soft drinks and beer. Taxi costs around 15 euros to the airport for 2, including 2 suitcases, I think its slightly less on weekdays, but there is a taxi rank literally outside the hotel. A word of advice - Malaga closes down completely and seems to sleep on Sundays so you will have difficulty in finding a restaurant open, particularly if there's a football match on! Touristy things were also closed on Sunday and some on Monday, so check before you go. Plenty to see and do - shopping, the market, ancient sites and buildings and good food. We hope to return and would definitely stay at the same hotel. Shop around for rates - we got 94 euros for Sunday, 124 euros Monday and Tuesday (incl breakfast) through eBookers:)
