It didn't start well - my heart sank when the taxi stopped outside and I saw where we were staying. The hotel is in a building in which part of the frontage is a shop and the whole thing looked a bit seedy, which of course it is not. The reception is in a small front area that doubles as a bar, and the gentleman on reception was not unpleasant, just not terribly helpful - when we later asked where the shops were he circled a large area on the map and said it was all shops. Consequently we never found the main shopping street. The male receptionist on the Sunday and lady on Monday were much more helpful. As documented the property has what seems to be the smallest lift in the world of hotels. This took us to our room which would be called by some arty and minimalist, but to me it was bare and soulless. I must add that the bathroom was extremely well equipped and absolutely spotlessly clean. We had breakfast included in our rate and I was surprised how good it was, it could not be faulted. The hotel was walking distance to the Rhine where we spent a very enjoyable Sunday morning with a pleasant lunch, and It was also easy to walk to the metro to take the ubahn to LTU arena to attend a concert. Clean room, very good spotless bathroom, excellent breakfast but I'm sorry, just not my sort of place.
