“A great place to stay in Berlin!”

My husband and I have just returned from a three night break at Louisa's Place in Berlin.
I would be happy to recommend this little gem of an hotel to any friends ( or fellow trip advisor readers!) The hotel is smart, clean, elegant and friendly, and I felt it was a lovely change to a
" normal" hotel room. It felt like you had your own private litle appartment in the city, and was a lovely relaxing place to come back to after a busy days walking round the city( NB: there is currently (12th March) a public transport strike in Berlin, so you will be walking a lot, and will be grateful for a relaxing space at the end of the day)

We had a Superior suite, which comprises of a good sized double room, bathroom with shower ( no bath) entrance hall, and a lounge/kitchen with dishwasher, dvd player and TV and full self catering facilities.

We didn't eat in the restaurant or use the pool , so I can't comment on those facillities.
All in all , a great place, and so much nicer than some of the impersonal boring hotels that you can stay in for a similar price!

“Great place!”

My husband, soon-to-be-teen son and I recently returned from a 3 night break in Berlin and what a great place to go!
Firstly - we stayed at Louisa's place on the Ku'damm which was close to the Adenauerplatz u-bahn so very handy for getting about. The staff were extremely welcoming at this lovely classy hotel. Our room was actually a suite which I understand they all are here, with a king-bedroom and lounge with sofa-bed, chair, desk and tv (only CNN & BBC world in English) with DVD (take your own films). There was a kitchenette with fridge, dishwasher, stove, kettle and pots 'n pans etc. Only a couple of fruit tea bags and capuccino sachets but we took some PG anyway though I'm sure if we had asked they would have restocked us (no milk but bought some from down road)
Breakfast was ok though our son was disappointed as not experienced continental breakfast before. Additional to the usual bread, cheese & ham was smoked salmon and fish of some sort. We were very pleased with the glasses of champagne we were given one morning as they knew it was my husband's birthday. Fabulous!
The pool was fantastic though not large it was MOST inviting after a long day's walking. We had it to ourselves every time we went. Small gym not used by us - in fact we only saw one couple the whole time we were using the leisure facilities. Sauna had to be pre-booked to allow them time to get it to temperature for you.
Hotel was ideal for a family as it gave you the space and privacy unavailable with a family room at other hotels.
Booked through "Just one hotels" at a far better rate than anywhere else.

TOURISTY STUFF - Berlin Zoo - amazed how close we could get to the animals, lions were great.
Fersehturm TV tower - had evening meal in the revolving restaurant. Great experience!
Ka-De We dept store - incredible food floor with places to have nibbles and drinks (wish we'd left enough time to try them!)
Gendenmarkt - chocolate place, too much to choose & not to be missed!
Obviously the history stuff like Berlin wall & checkpoint Charlie were special times of reflection.
The Berlin transport system was great with a welcome card for adult & child costing 24.50 euros for 72 hours. 21.50 for adult. Trains very frequent and on time! No need to pass tickets thru machines as in London. Just get aboard and ride.

All in all we can certainly recommend Berlin for a short break.

A fine small hotel with good sized suites including a well stocked kitchen, a lovely rarely used indoor pool, helpful staff, good accessible location. Stayed for a week in September 2007 and will return for another week in April 2008.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — suite included a kitchen with good equipment, quiet indoor pool, location, near public transportation
    • Disliked — breakfast was expensive and slow

“Great place to stay”

We chose this hotel specifically because we wanted more than just a room for our trip and we were very happy with our choice.

We had what can only be described as an apartment on the 5th floor - hall, bedroom, bathroom and livingroom/kitchen. All very clean, very comfortable, nicely done and very pleasant, for the price of an average hotel room.

Room service was a problem as the attached restaurant had a convention running so wasn't operating. However, there is a 24 hour store opposite for basics and plenty of cafes and restaurants. We made our own breakfast everyday and ate out otherwise. We particularly recommend the stunning Chinese restaurant - Hot Spot - on the adjacent street.

The hotel is just up from a metro station (Adenauer Platz) and there are plenty of buses -including one for Tegel Airport.. Getting to the main attractions was easy and quick.

We found the staff helpful and kind. The pool, fitness room and sauna were excellent. We would definitely stay there again - the sense of space was wonderful.
