I reviewed all the hotel's via Trip Advisor and opted for this one - and what an excellent choice! First for the location and closeness to the S & U Bahn 200 yard walk to the front of the hotel.
The reception staff could not have been nicer. We opted to take the upgrade if it was available and we got a delux room. The reviewer who complained about the pillows did not avail of the a la carte pillow menu - excellent as I am allergic to feathers. The chocolates on the pillows and the free water we thought to be a nice touch.
We also booked the Suprisingly Different package and took the meal on the first night we arrived .... what a delight on the palate .
The hotel is within dandering distance to the Potsdammerplatz which is a great location for picking somewhere else to eat. Don't rule out the Italian down from the hotel at the crossroads - a tasty bite without travelling too far.
Berlin surprised us on the whole and is in our top 10 of European cities.

The Hotel is located south of Potsdammerplatz, Brandenburger Tor, Reichstag, Sony Center, and Potsdammer Platz Arkaden are only a short walk away.
Public transportation is right in front of the hotel (S- / U-Bahn, Bus).

The hotel itself was completely reimburshed in 2004 and following has a modern style. The staff is very engaged and always offered a helping hand. The quiet room was a little bit small, but ok and had a great view.

To sum up, we would book it again for a trip to Berlin!

Booked three days under the "Surprisingly Different" package and applied for upgrade to Junior Suite for 12 Euros per night.

Great welcome, room exceeded expectations and the package was great value. The hotel was so quiet at night that we thought that we were the only guests - not so as the restaurant was very busy on Sunday morning.

The 4 course, chef's surprise, evening meal was excellent and the huge packed lunch kept us occupied at the airport on day of departure.

I had mentioned that it was my husband's birthday on checkout day - a really nice touch was the delivery of a birthday card and small gift that morning.

Very well located for Checkpoint Charlie and great access to the S & U Bahn.

What a lovely hotel...its a hotel i will remember - Especially the wonderful room. The only complaint was the lack of English channels and movies - Its not very enjoyable watching american movies dubbed in german when you understand about 3 words in total... An international hotel should always cater for english speaking guests - not only german speaking guests.
