Honigmond was recommended to us by a professor who travels to Berlin frequently. We found it a little more expensive than a regular 'chain' hotel, but it was worth it at the end of the day for the nice touches and character of the rooms and public areas. The breakfast was included, served in the Honigmond restaurant and it was fantastic. We also ate dinner in the restaurant one night, and the food was great, although we subsequently found other places slightly cheaper.
There is free internet access, which is great for keeping up to date, and daily papers are available in the foyer area (with its leather chairs) and in the restaurant. The bathrooms and the rooms were spotless and modern. The only quibble we had was with the noise from the wooden floored hallways, as you can hear suitcases and clip-clop of people leaving first thing in the morning. There's really not anything to be done about that, serves us right for being lazy and sleeping the day away!
Overall, a very stylish yet comfortable place that we'd recommend to anyone.
