We picked this hotel based on the reviews and the web site and were not at all dissapointed. We asked for a large double and it was huge, we had the whole front of the property on the third floor. That gave us 3 windows, and as it was rather warm during our visit, that was appreciated (interestingly there were no screens in the windows, but there were few bugs). The room could probably have slept two more people, in addition to the king bed, there was a daybed and a large couch as well as several chairs and a table.
The family that runs the hotel were very friendly and helpful and it felt like home with childrena nd grandchildren and toys about.
Rothenburg was an absolutely fabulous place. We were there for two days but could have styed much longer. The night watchman is quite a show. Interestingly, one would think that this place would be too much of a tourist trap to be enjoyable, however my husband and I kept commenting on how it did not feel like a tourist trap at all. We walked the ramparts several times and found places that there were no people (tourists or locals). There were many back streets that were very quiet, and we really enjoyed that this is a real city, people actually live here as well as work here. I highly recommend a visit to everyone, old and young!
