I have to thank all of you who shared your reviews of this place: It was wonderful! Charming, old hotel, very well maintained, right in the center of things. We felt like we had stepped back in time.

We stayed at many hotels throughout Germany. Most were welcoming, in a polite way. But the staff at Goldener Greifen were universally warm and welcoming; they couldn't do enough for us. And the hotel restaurant was excellent for reasonable, top-notch, homey German cooking. Best brats I had the whole trip.

I highly recommend Goldener Greifen...and be sure to take the Night Watchman's tour of Rothernberg. Informative, and hilarious.

This was a wonderful place to stay. They gave us a hugh suite, with a separate sitting/tv room and big bedroom and a beautifully renovated bathroom. The staff was wonderful, the room was very clean and the breakfast was good. It is in the very heart of old Rothenburg. Everyone spoke English too! I would recommend this one to anyone.

I booked the hotel based on TripAdvisor comments and I was not disappointed. Truly this hotel is a little gem. The people were terrific; the hotel has a great location, the room was clean and roomy (we had a family of 4) and the food was good. I would absolutely stay here again. There is parking out back. Make sure you have a map with detail of the town so you can find the hotel when you arrive.

Our stay was everything you could expect, comfortable room and good bathroom, excellent breakfast, friendly atmosphere, lovely views from our room, excellent location.
