“Nice surprise”

ApartHotel Munchen Giesing

4 of 5 stars
Budapest
Mar 19, 2008

I was travelling on a budget and could not afford centrally located hotels, so I chose this one.
Location is really good, very quite part of the city, just 1 block from metro station that takes you to the city center!
Friendly receptionists checked me in and were able to allocate a new room for me when I asked for a higher floor.
As a nice surprise it turned out there is also a small kitchenette in the room with micro, fridge, sink, very helpful!
Room was big enough, but the bathroom was really tiny. All in excellent condition and very clean!
The hotel accomodated a large italian group while I stayed there, but staff was always available and helpful which is a good point, many hotels working with groups are just simply not taking care of individual travellers at such times...
Overall, excellent value for you money, nice staff, good location!

“Very Good”

ApartHotel Munchen Giesing

Feb 27, 2008

We stayed in this hotel for two nights over a weekend. It is in a quiet location, a bit out of the main town but the U-bahn station is right next to the hotel and it's easy to get to the centre of town in just a few minutes. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good, almost too much to choose from. The price was reasonable too. If you are planning a trip to Munich I would recommend staying at this hotel.

“Munchen Magic”

ApartHotel Munchen Giesing

Jan 4, 2008

We were delighted with our stay here.
The rooms were quite plain but modern & had everything you could want (The kitchenette was handy for making drinks etc, and the fridge for keeping the beer cold!!). The shower was lovely, and the housekeeping was immaculate. On St Nicholas day (Google it lol) we were left a lindt santa which was a nice touch and demolished immediately!
The breakfasts were a treat & offered a great variety of fresh choice which kept us going for a good part of the day (well, until Weissbier & pretzels called anyway). Breakfast is served in the restaurant, which in the evening becomes an italian restaurant (not run by the hotel) We ate here one night & this was the only disappointing eating experience of our stay (very ordinary & desperately slow service- 35 minute wait for starters & then another 30 for mains).
We liked that we were able to leave our bags in a locked room after checking out on our day of departure. This meant we had another day to enjoy the city.
Munich itself was a complete delight and very close by U bahn. On Sunday morning we sat on the balcony to hear all the bells ringing in the city which was really nice.
There is loads to do & we would recommend the castles tour (Linderhof & Neuschwanstein- some don't offer both but its worth it) and the walking tour. But if not, just have a walk around the lovely place- stopping for an occasional coffee/beer for refreshment!!

Talking of beer (I'm not dependent, honest, but it is so delicious here) , the bar was pleasant at the hotel. not large or particularly atmospheric but the service was superb & the prices reasonable

In summary, lovely to stay here- I wish my recent stay in a London hotel was even marginally as pleasant & would definately return!!

“A beautiful stay”

ApartHotel Munchen Giesing

Athens
Jan 2, 2008

The hotel is situated very near to the metro (5 mins. walking), the room was very clean, quiet, spacious and comfortable and the personnel was very gentle. The breakfast was exceptional. A very big plus was that the hotel offered us bikes for free and we had the opportunity to visit almost the entire city biking! Recommended to everyone, since Munich IS the city to bike! A big thanx for a very pleasant stay!

“Pay Money To Be Treated Like Crap By The Staff”

ApartHotel Munchen Giesing

Just got back from here today. I understand that when you don't pay much you don't get much but paying little should not entitle a hotel's staff to treat you like crap.

There was one particular individual working the desk here who would argue with the guests and try to pawn her duties back on the guests.

My first experience was standing next to a group asking about a place to eat. I then asked about the Ratskellar and she asked if I knew where it was and then she told the other guests to follow ME to the restaurant. When did I start getting paid to do her job and how do I qualify as a guide on my first day in a foreign country? The tone she took with myself and the guests was totally inappropriate.

Next experience, I asked her to call and confirm my flight home. In a very nasty tone she told me to do it myself. I told her I would but didn't have the number and could she get it for me and at this she became even more irritated and began raising her hands and gesticulating vigorously. Then she ordered me to go sit down while she had another staff member provide me with the wrong number anyway. It was just like having my Rottweiler trained "Sitzen!"

COLONEL KLINK LIVES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! at the Apart Geising.

The rest of the staff had a better attitude but were equally incompetent at dispensing even the most basic questions except one. i.e. If you work in the tourism industry in Bavaria shouldn't you know what town the train stops at to visit Neuchweinstein? Well not if you work at the Apart Geising.
