K+K Hotel am Harass is directly across the street from the elevator to the subway and about a block from the train station.

The breakfast is excellent. The staff are excellent. Ditto for the lobby and complimentary German and English language newspapers. Check-in was quick, efficient. Staff know the area, the city and are very helpful and kind.

Business center in the lobby is accessible 24/7

The rooms are functional with a good desk, television (with a touch I love--limited volume), storage space, plenty of outlets, FREE Internet, very nice bed, great bathroom, etc. The room was always comfortable no matter what the outside temperature.

I really can't think of a single thing bad to say. It's an exceptional value for the price, especially for us poor Americans with our puny little dollars.

It's easy to get to from the central train station, and definitely don't take a taxi from the airport like I did. It was 65 Euro. There's a train, but I didnt do my research or even ask, so I didn't know that.

We stayed at K&K am Harras Hotel in May 2008, in room 220. Our room was very nice, modern and clean, with the bed area partially separated from the TV/seating area; this gave a feeling of actually having a small suite. On either side of the wide doorway into the bed area, there was a built-in wardrobe. The bathroom was clean and modern, and included a hairdryer.

Breakfast was substantial and included tea and coffee; milk and juices; cereals; an assortment of delicious specialty breads and a toaster; meats and imported cheeses; fresh fruit; eggs and bacon; yogurt; and more. Coffee and tea were available round the clock, on a table near the elevators.

The S-Bahn (train) station is 1 block away. The S7 and S27 lines connect directly to the heart of Munich, and the ride takes about 10 minutes. The elevator to the U-Bahn (underground) is across the street.

The front desk clerks spoke English and were very helpful and professional. They can exchange currency. Internet access was free, 1 of the 2 computers had a printer, and each computer was in a small cubicle. Daily newspapers, including USA Today and The Wall Street Journal, were available for free in the lobby.

Within 1-2 blocks of the hotel are several small markets, a bakery, a McDonald’s, and a gelato stand. A few blocks further is DM, which sells cosmetics, bath products, non-prescription medicines, laundry soap, etc.

One of the desk clerks recommended a restaurant to us: Spektakel (address: Pfeuferstraße 32), serving traditional Bavarian fare. It was about a 10-minute walk and the food was amazingly good. Go there with an appetite! The menu was in both German and English.

We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Stayed at the K & K Am Harras for 4 days last week (February 2008). Excellent experience to say the least. First, location is excellent--from the U6 underground, if you exit through the correct stairway to the street, the hotel is approximately 20 yards away! A 2 minute walk from the hotel gets you to a McDonalds, a nice bakery with lots of breakfast goodies and cold drinks, and a large supermarket. My room was clean and well-maintained. Hot water in the shower, warm and comfortable room, television had lots of channels. The Marienplatz is 5 stops away on the U6 (about a 10 minute ride) The staff was very friendly and helpful; there are two computers with internet access in the lobby that are for guest use, at no charge! Will definitely stay at this hotel on my next visit to Munich. Highly recommended!

First it is very far from the train station you must take a cab or a bus or tube. Near subway and Oktoberfest grounds. The Hotel was great, very clean, nice size rooms, wonderful and helpful staff. They had free internet and a nice bar down in the lobby. We had dinner in our room on the first night and it was wonderful and good price too. Great things to do right out of munich too. A must was the neuschwanstein castle and linderfoh lodge. We also took in Dachau concentration camp, it was very hard to do but a must.
