Having stayed at the Sheraton Arabellapark (formerly ArabellaSheraton Bogenhausen) just a few months ago, and absolutely loving it, I decided to try the Sheraton Westpark for my recent 3-night trip. The location is quite convenient, right on top of a subway stop, although there's not much within convenient walking distance. The staff was very nice and the check-in and check-out quick and efficient. And the hotel lobby had a nice, inviting atmosphere.
However, the aspect of the hotel that fell well short of expectations was the room. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. We got 2 twin mattresses pushed together, and I've had softer, thicker mattresses in hostels. And the sheets were scratchy to the point where my girlfriend woke up with a rugburn from moving around in her sleep. This was quite a difference from the Arabellapark Sheraton, where the beds were great! Also, the room didn't have a clock, which is semi-annoying, and the tv was old and worked poorly.
There was a metal sunshade outside the window that comes down with a switch, which is kind of cool normally, except when it starts going up and down noisily at 6am. Either we had a ghost in our room or it was broken.
I'm not sure if some of the rooms are renovated to better standards, but I hope so. Our stay wasn't bad overall, but I'd recommend staying at one of the other 2 Sheratons if the prices are comparable (in this case they were just about 10 euros more). No less convenient really, and much nicer rooms.
A quick word on the city, we were really surprised how busy everything was even in the low travel season. We happened upon great weather, and had a great time going around and seeing the sights of the city. Very nice people and great food and beer! Lots of great German food, but if you get sick of sausage, check out Berni's Pizzeria a block or 2 off Marienplatz. Great, authentic Italian food. Enjoy Munich!
