We had a lovely 4 day break in this area. The views are great (Not at all dominated by the airport as others have said) and the seafront area is fabulous to walk along, there was even a mainly sandy beach part in front of the hotel. We enjoyed watching the wind surfers taking off into the air and never saw a cloud in all 4 days while it was snowing back in Cheshire! The pools weren't open because of the time of year. Rooms very clean and spacious with separate toilet to the bathroom which is useful as a family. One room had a view of the mountains and town and the other of the sea and the hotel gardens. We had balconies in both rooms.
To be honest we only booked this hotel because my husband uses Holiday Inn hotels whenever he travels with business so had accrued many privilege points which can be exchanged for free nights. Combined with cheap Bmi baby flights to Nice we thought it would be a great long weekend for us and our 2 teenage boys and my Dad. (Dad had to pay for his room!) We would have chosen the holiday inn hotel in town centre Nice but they did not seem to allow us to have the children in the room with us.
The shuttle from the airport was great you use the courtesy phone at the information desk and the shuttle came within minutes. All the staff were very friendly and spoke good English. We were surprised they didnt have a supply of bus timetables but they told us how and where to catch the bus into Nice.
We were planning to mainly use the hotel as a base to explore the area but I started with a very bad back and so we spent more time close to the hotel and really enjoyed it. There are lots of lovely restaurants along the sea front We used Dylanos just out of the back of the hotel and to the left for lunch one day and dinner another day and icecream on the beach. It was good value, friendly and tasty. Our 14year old loves mussels so we went to the far end of the port and had an excellent meal in Le bar a Moules great value at 10 euro for a huge bowl of moules and frites. We didnt eat breakfast in the hotel- at 18 euros it seemed steep for 4 of us! We had it in the Cap3000 at the end of the road one day and also bought pain au chocolat and croissant in the Paul part of the Galeries Lafayette food hall and ate them in the room All in all it made a fabulous break for us all.
