My family stayed one night in May. It's fun to look at wallabies, peacocks and chickens from one's window before bed and in the morning. There are pigs (some of them piglets, very cute), a pony, emus and an ostrich in a pasture across the yard. The ostrich did an amazing dance for us right at the fence.
We didn't use the free bicycles because my daughter is too young to ride, but there was a rack of bikes to choose from and they would have been a good way to see the village and surrounding area. (I didn't see any helmets; you might want to ask or bring those.)
The location is lovely. It looks just like the pictures on the website, and our rooms had fresh flowers in colors that matched the decor. My husband found the bed the most comfortable he'd had in a while. The crib provided was nicely made up and in good shape. Breakfast was good, with boiled eggs, yogurt, jam and breads. Giverny is small and everything is within walking distance.
A few caveats for those used to standard hotel rooms: Bring bathrobes or good lounging clothes and ask for a room with a shower if you prefer that. We stayed in the suite, which is two rooms connected by a balcony, with a bathroom off the smaller one. To get to the bathroom from the larger room, one needs to go across the balcony or a short distance in the hall. Another room had its toilet or shower, I'm not sure which, off the hall. The suite's bathtub is a huge one, wonderful for soaking and with a shower attachment one can use for rinsing, but a note reminds guests not to stand to shower because the resulting splashes flood the kitchen below. Also, the hosts ask guests to use the tables on balconies or around the property rather than eat in the rooms. That wasn't much of a problem for us, since the weather was nice and the suite's balcony had a table.
