My husband & I stayed at this hotel May 29-June 1st in a "Classic Double with shower." Yes, the room was very small (smallar than a cruise ship room), but I knew this going into the reservation. Overall our experience was a positive one. I'd recommend it to my friends and family.

LOCATION:
You can't beat it! It's located on a small, quiet street one block from the Luxembourg Gardens. Rue Monsieur-Le-Prince boasts lots of Japanese restaurants and small little bistros like Chez Maitre Paul & Cremerie Restaurant Polidor (diners waited outside up to an hour before the 7pm opening to grab a seat in this little bistro). There are 2 convenience shops nearby that sell sodas, snacks, and wine. There's also a pastry shop that has delicious sandwiches and eclairs! The closet Metro is the Odeon which is about a 5-10 stroll down Rue Monsieur-Le-Prince. Le Danton faces the Metro stop and is a great place for a quick Parisian breakfast. The RER stop is in the opposite direction and is less than a 5 minutes walk away.

ROOM:
The room basically is made up of a double sized bed, small desk with 1 chair, and TV embedded into the wall, and 2 narrow closets built into the wall. The bathroom was larger than I expected. The shower was large and had a glass door. The hotel supplies lots of little toiletries like a lotion, shampoo/conditioner, q-tips, shower cap, soap, hairdryer etc. Our room was very clean and quite comfortable at night with the large windows wide open. We did use the A/C during the day and it cooled the room very well.
There is daily maid service and it is usually in the mid-afternoon. Don't forget to drop your big tassel key off at the front desk when you leave for the day!

STAFF & LOBBY:
Pierre (the young bald guy) is very friendly and quite helpful. He was a great resource for helping us with recommendations, reservations and directions. He lived in the USA for 15 years so his English is perfect and he even has an American accent. The lobby is small and cozy. We didn't try the breakfast, but we did have a glass of wine on our last night in the courtyard.

RATING: I'd give this hotel 4 stars. I think the rooms could be a bit larger for 175 E a night. I'd come here again, but I probably won't. I'd rather stay in a different area so I could get to know another area of Paris. :-)

Very clean and comfortable hotel. Very close to the Notre Dame and the latin quarter. Getting around from this hotel to other attractions is very simple and the RER train is very close for direct access to Charles DeGaulle.
The rooms are rather small but this was expected and we were very satisfied with the hotel and staff..

We had a long weekend in Paris in September. This hotel was perfect. We walked everywhere and really enjoyed the culture of this beautiful city. The staff /hotel ambience really suited these NY travelers. Boutique, small, clean, charming and well positioned. I highly recommend.

“Best vacation we ever had”

It was our first trip to Paris...a French co-worker set us up at this hotel. It was perfect. We felt like we were in a small, private Ritz Carlton. The staff was extremely helpful with calling taxis, recommending restaurants, giving us maps, and making us reservations. A fire was going every evening when we returned from our day. we had a quiet and clean room on the 5th floor (although small like most French hotels). A wonderful area of Paris to stay in. A five minute walk to the Seine and a ten minute walk to Notre Dame. Tons of great restaurant within walking distance. Alfredo Positano was our favorite-one of the Le Clos Medicis staff recommended it to us and we actually went twice during our stay. We will go back!

Everywhere we looked for, we read nice things about this hotel. From decor to location, to service. Only one of those stood up to expectations!

Starting with the positive, the location is indeed great. Right by the Luxembourg Gardens, Place de la Sorbonne, Le Pantheon. One block to secure public parking. Restaurants everywhere and, in different directions, short walks away from the Louvre, Notre Dame, Orsay, etc etc.

Decor? it might have been nice and looked very chic when it was new and not run down, but it is in urgent need of a "face lift."

Of course, we know from experience that rooms in Paris can be minuscule, however, the first "deluxe" one we were giving, beat all our past experiences. We decided to ignore it and took it.... Well, the walls were so thin, and we could hear so well the room next door, that we had to ask the front desk staff to call our neighbors in the middle of the night, and ask their children to low their voices. Nevertheless, it was a sleepless night!

In the morning we mentioned it to the front desk staff, and they, very dilengently, offered to change us and instructed to leave our luggage ready for them to move us during the day.

However, when we returned, it hadn't happened. In addition, the gentleman on the front desk, thought it was more appropriate to keep on talking on the phone with his "sweetheart" than paying attention to us. Finally, when he finished, he got impatient with us and said he did not know anything about changing us and that he had no other rooms available.

After we told him that we would not spend another night in the same room, he offered to move us to a room that had. magically, been made available on the 5th floor. The room was nicer, bigger and in better condition than the first one, but he didn't offer any help at all with our luggage.

Except for breakfast in the morning, you could not ask for anything else to be brought to your room during the day. Anything you could need, towells, soap, and extra blanket, you had to go down yourself and get it. Not our past expereince at 3 star hotels....

We would not go back to this place, because, after looking around, we know you can get better deals and rooms elsewhere. Besides, they serve the worse coffee we had in France, EVER!
