“Very disappointing service”

Les Jardins du Trocadero

Aug 23, 2007

On the positive side, the location is good and the rooms are OKish in terms of value for money for Paris hotels, where you never know what to expect unless you are checking in at a reputable international chain.

On the negative side, the clown that was on duty at the reception when we checked in spoiled the experience for us and left a very bad impression of the management of the hotel. We had booked an executive room that was supposed to have a view of the gardens and Eiffel Tower; we were extremely disappointed by the room and the inexisting views (you could see the top of the tower from our window). Checking the rates on the room we realised that it was a superior room and not what we had paid for.

The checking process took in total about 1 hour until we were finally
settled in the room we had booked and paid for, which had a view of some trees, but not much else. For proper views you must be in the higher floors, otherwise, don't expect much.

Our impression was that the guy in charge was trying to let us take a cheaper room in order to keep the better ones available as we had prepaid our stay. It took a lot of arguing to get the right room and he was generally rude.

“No late room service”

We checked in on 8/9 around 8am. My room was not ready, so I was given another room until mine was ready. Not a problem as I got a few hours to relax after the long flight into Paris. The location by the Eiffel Tower is great. When you walk around the museum and look to your right, the magnificence of the Tower strikes you. Now, onto the review...
Our rooms were small but cozy. We had plenty of towels and were fairly comfortable. The tv was a flat screen but had very limited station reception. Being from the US, there were only two English stations, CNN and Eurosport.
The jacuzzi didn't work for myself or my friend. She had booked this hotel because of this and the idea of 24hr room service.
There is a menu for late night supper or snacks, but the serving company to call does not understand English very well and we waited for over two hours for our meal.
Overall, we were treated well and courteously by the front desk people and the maid/service people. I would recommend this hotel only if jacuzzi and room service are not high on your lists.

My best friend and I (we're girls who are 30) stayed at this SUPER-CUTE hotel!! The bathroom was TOTALLY nice, and the room was - need I say it again?? SUPER-CUTE! The people who work there are really really nice too!! So I absolutely recommend this clean, charming, cared-for (with love) hotel. It's the sweetest lil' place I've ever encountered!

My daughter and I went to Paris in May. This was our first trip to Europe. This is a very cute hotel, very French which is what we wanted. It is very near the stop for Les Cars Rouge for which you can buy a 2 day pass and see all the sights. You are also within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. There are lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel has a restaurant but we didn't eat there. We wanted to take the tour of Monet's gardens but it was already full. I would recommend booking any tours you might want to take prior to your trip. All in all, I would recommend this hotel for its convenient location and beautiful rooms.

“Outstanding !”

My travel agent booked the first week of march 2007.

The location is excellent. The area is safe & close to the bus stops & metro.

On arrival at the hotel we were met by the delightful Lucy who has to be one of the most helpful hoteliers we have met. She was english & very jovial.

The internet is free & unlimited. I was able to connect my laptop to the wifi.

The rooms are wonderfully comfortable, the amenities are great for a hotel of this size/rating, and the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.

The breakfast is very good, I had some scrambled eggs with cheese & ham. Someone is always available to refill your coffee cup when needed.

It was nice to get back to Paris after so many years and staying at les Jardins du Trocadero was the higlight of the trip.

A gem of a hotel we would highly recomend it !
