Killarney itself was nice. Driving in it and trying to find the hotel car park was a nightmare. The alleyway into the car park is barely wide enough for a car, much less the Volvo rental we had. We got wedged in the alley and then spent 20 min trying to angle into a spot in the tiny car park.
The hotel staff was clearly not interested in doing any more than the bare minimal. Luckily, the room was large and a triple.
The bathroom was fine unless you chose to take a shower. The water temperature shifted dangerously depending on the bathroom activities of the other rooms. Scalding hot water or freezing cold came out unexpectedly throughout the shower.
The Danny Mann pub was great for music and drink.

Went to Killarney with some friends recently at short notice and booked this hotel over the phone. Overall we were all quite satisfied. The price we got was quite good considering it was a weekend and the hotel is extremely well located, right in the middle of the town, though this restricts the view from your bedroom somewhat. The rooms were fine though, we had two twin rooms which were a good enough size for what we needed and they were clean and tidy.
The hotel gains points for its location, minutes walk from all the other venues in killarney , and for the main bar, the bar food here was good and the staff were very nice. Later on the bar started to fill up as there was a trad band starting. This isn't my cup of tea so we left shortly after, but it looked like it was going to be pretty lively. if this is your thing I'd say you could do worse than to go here.
Overall we were pleased with the hotel and would certainly go back.

I only called in to this restaurant for an early lunch on a sunday evening. I live in kerry and I was disgusted at the service I recieved there. The food was awful, it was cold and burnt. (i dont know how they burn it and then serve it cold). The service was terrible. The waiters were so rude and impolite. If the restaurant is anything to go by I wouldnt go near the place. When I complained they told me it was very unusal and that was it. Dont eat there.

I was only going to Killarney for one night and wanted to book three rooms, one for me, one for my sister and one for my cousin and her boyfriend. Straightforward enough. When I rang the hotel, the receptionist told me that all their rooms were doubles; and if one person wanted to stay in a room, they would have to pay the same price as if two people stayed in it. They wanted to have maximum occupancy: 2 people in every room paying €105, instead of one person in a room paying €65. This was unacceptable in my book. She said, "Oh, it's Saturday night in Killarney, and no one is going to give you a single room." This is ridiculous - it's Killarney - not Manhattan.

Then I went on-line and booked exactly what she wouldn't give me over the phone. I rang to confirm the next day: two rooms at €65 each for myself and my sister, and a double room for my cousin at €105.

When I arrived the same receptionist who wouldn't give me the booking I wanted was there. She got it into her head that I was trying to pull a fast one on her, and put two people into a single room. It took nearly 10 minutes to explain what my booking was. She eventually twigged it. I thought I was going to have to get a flip chart and talk her through it.

The hotel was full of rowdy drunken thugs, which must have reinforced plenty of stereotypes for the predominantly American tourists, who had the misfortune to share the same hotel. My cousin shared a lift with a bunch of guys who had enough booze with them to float a small boat.

Then the coup de grace... At 5am a guy tried to get into my sisters room thinking it was his own. When he failed to gain entry he decided that the only decent thing to do was to urinate on her door. Yes, you read correctly. She was greeted by a small river of urine flowing into her room. He then left his shoes and glasses in the corridor.

When we contacted the manager the next day he didn't bat an eyelid, as if this was the third time this had happened this week. He apologised and asked if we were staying around. We weren't. He said if we were ever in Killarney again, to call in and he would give us a free lunch. No thanks; if the breakfast is anything to go by. No refund, nothing. I appreciate that there is nothing that there is nothing he can do about the depravity of his guests but I think he could have offered more.

The one plus in this hotel is the location - it's right in the centre of town and if that's where you want to be then you won't get better. The rooms/beds are clean and no problems there really.

Overall, I couldn't recommend it though.
