Good News: We did not have to wait in line since we ordered our tickets in advance when we booked our trip. The Guinness Storehouse building is interesting....all the exhibits go around in a circle that moves you from one level to another. The central atrium rises 7 storeys & takes the shape of a pint of Guinness...the head is represented by the glassed in Gravity Bar which provides a stunning panoramic view of Dublin. Here is where you can order your complinentary pint of Guinness or if you prefer ..a glass of coke!
A copy of Arthur Guinness' original lease is imbedded beneath a pane of glass in the floor of the ground floor. Under the terms he would pay 45 pounds annually for the next 9000 years and would never have to pay for the water used...good deal! He died at age 83. There is a cafeteria on one floor & a restaurant on the floor above. There are escalators & a glassed in elevator if you have the patience to wait for it (it is usually overcrowded). There is a large gift shop that takes up 2 floors in a corner of the building as you enter. Lots of people with Guinnss bags.
Bad News: The building is overcrowded & it takes quite a while to get your complimentary Guinness in the Gravity Bar. It took time & patience to finally get a seat near the window to enjoy the awesome view. While some of the exhibits were interesting, I found other exhibits quite boring. All in all I would recommend a visit while you are in Dublin.
