“Great experience”

Paramount Hotel

4 of 5 stars
San Carlos, CA
Jul 12, 2008

We stayed at The Paramount for two nights in June '08 and have a fantastic experience. First of all, the hotel is in a great location. We were able to walk to most everything we wanted to see. Our room on the 4th (top) floor was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel itself is old, but the decoration was modern. We had a triple room to accommodate our 9 year old son - we felt welcome as a family.

I did not experience a problem with noise. At one point I woke around midnight and could faintly hear the baseline of the bar music, but it was not enough to keep me awake. If you're sensitive to noise, try to get a room on the 4th floor.

Finally, the breakfast was excellent and the staff was helpful.

“Quite a nice stay at the Paramount”

Paramount Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Washington, DC
Jul 8, 2008

This hotel is perfectly situated for a weekend in Dublin - especially if pub activity is on the agenda (and how could it not be while in this city!). It is on the edge of Temple Bar which is a lively area full of restaurants and bars. The Paramount is also convenient to the city's sights - either by foot or the hop-on bus tours.

The rooms are standard European compact but clean and nicely decorated with a modern vibe. The front desk staff was very pleasant.

I was a little leery of the noise issue when arriving at the Paramount - upon checking in, I requested a room as quiet as possible. Due to the hotel's capacity, they only could give us a room on the 2nd floor facing the courtyard (the original room was on the first floor) - not much of a view but it was fairly quiet. You could hear the bass from the Turk's Head bar at night for a time but earplugs (and a few Guinnesses) were generally adequate for a good night's sleep.

“Clean, great bar downstairs”

Paramount Hotel

4 of 5 stars
Central Coast, California
Jun 28, 2008

Myself and 3 of my friends stayed here on the last leg of our European vacation. Definitely the best place we stayed the whole trip and the price was very reasonable. Very clean! The bar downstairs is a great place to get the night started (or to stay all night!)

“Great deal for such a modern hotel”

Paramount Hotel

May 21, 2008

We stayed at this hotel two nights in April. We booked through expedia and the price was very reasonable. As a result, we weren't expecting much so we were incredibly surprised to see that the hotel offered great value for money.

The hotel is quite compact, but the rooms are nicely decorated and the bathroom was quite big. As others have said, location could not be better, right in Temple Bar a short distance to all the bars and clubs.

We were located on the second floor and one night there was a party going on in the bar below and the music was very loud. Complete contrast on the second night when there was no party and therefore much quieter.

I would recommend this hotel as it offers great value for money, location is unbeatable and the rooms are modern and clean.

“Modern Hotel in a Great Location”

Paramount Hotel

4 of 5 stars
New Jersey
May 16, 2008

We just got back from our 10 day trip to England/ Ireland and spent 2 nights at the Paramount Hotel. It was just what we needed as far as location and price. The hotel itself is located just on the outer end of Temple bar but still very close to everything. It wasn't terribly noisy during our stay. It was howevery unusually warm during our stay and the room was located on the fifth floor with the sun shining directly towards us. So, needless to say our room was warmer than expected and none have air conditioning. It may have been cooler in the rooms below. It really didn' t bother us though. I would rather have our rooms warm than cold. Plus, the weather was so perfect I couldn't complain. By night it was much cooler and we were hardly in our room anyway. The rooms themselves are very modern and clean. The bed was a little worn down on one side but still comfortable. The shower grouting looked like it was kind of done haphazardly but was overall still decent. I would definitely recommend this place again for the price and location. We got to the hotel easily by taking the Airlink bus which drops you off about 1 block away from the hotel. Which was also very convenient.
