not a 4 star hotel, lobby and bar are impressive on arrival good views over the river.Rooms recently refurbished and nice but bathrooms need upgrading.Only one bar staff on duty and beer is terrible.,food is average.Dont wait up for the music in the lobby it will put you to sleep where you sit.The leisure centre is outdated and at least a 10 min walk up a steep hill.

The hotel is excellent, food good and the service quick in the bar/reception areas. Breakfast on first day was self service, which worked well and was excellent. Then on next two days was waitress service. We waited nearly twenty minutes for them to take our order, had to ask them to take away dirty dishes and then the breakfast orders where incorrect and overcooked. The bedrooms where excellent, obviously refurbed but the bathrooms whilst they where clean they were very tired and the taps kept jamming on making it impossible at times to turn off.

If your looking for a normal, relaxing,weekend break look no further! Nothing amazing, not too expensive, good location - especially if your planning a shopping trip. Its about 20minutes from Cork International Airport. 5/10 minutes from the City Centre, and 10/15 minutes to Munsters biggest shopping centre - Mahon Point! It is a nice clean hotel. Nice amenities -- large pool, gym ect, ect. Bar with occasional entertainment, nice clean restaurant................
Overall the hotel has a nice atmosphere, well mannered staff and while I wouldn't recommend it for top calss weddings or spectacular occasions - it's a nice hotel when looking for a quiet city weekend break!! Come to Cork and see what I'm talking about!

I stayed in this hotel and attended the Christmas Function as a guest. It was a mad dash down from Dublin and on arrival I literally threw the dress and make up on and ran from the room in a sprint to make it to the dinner on time.
The next morning I checked out went home to Dublin having had a wonderful Christmas party and a very peaceful night's sleep in the hotel.
To my horror the next day I remembered I had locked my wallet (including all my credit cards) bus travel ticket, ID and other personal effects in the safe and left without taking them with me. As it was Christmas week the horror began to dawn that I could be in a bit of a pickle. In a flash I rang the hotel and explained my predicament and to my amazement not only did they find all my belongings but arranged a courier (on a Sunday) so that I would have all my possessions the following day.
I could not have been more grateful on Christmas week and I commend all the staff, Ruth and those at reception for being so understanding of this little lady's poor memory.
A great place to stay with all the little touches added which may your visit so enjoyable. Well done Silver Springs
