At 17 miles from the nearest inn, the Loch Erisort Inn has to be good, and it really is! Our good-sized bedroom (one of five) had been recently refurbished to a very high standard and was comfortable and spotlessly clean.
On arrival, a mix-up over our booking was speedily resolved by the landlord (Bernie), and he and his wife Geraldine did everything possibly to make our stay a memorable one. Bernie's tips on places to visit were very helpful, and after a day we really felt as though we were staying with friends.
Breakfasts were taken in the Breakfast Room with a stunning view across Loch Erisort -- our first breakfast was interrupted by Bernie inviting us into the car park to see a passing golden eagle! And what breakfasts they serve ... the "Lewis special" had to be seen to believed, and the kippers were delicious.
Evening meals can be taken in the bar (lively at weekends!) or the restaurant-cum-lounge, and are home-made, with local fish and other produce.
All-in-all it would be hard to better the service that Bernie and Geraldine provide ... I hope others find it as enjoyable a place to stay as we did.
