“Great place to stay on a beautiful island”

Loch Erisort Inn

Sep 8, 2008

At 17 miles from the nearest inn, the Loch Erisort Inn has to be good, and it really is! Our good-sized bedroom (one of five) had been recently refurbished to a very high standard and was comfortable and spotlessly clean.
On arrival, a mix-up over our booking was speedily resolved by the landlord (Bernie), and he and his wife Geraldine did everything possibly to make our stay a memorable one. Bernie's tips on places to visit were very helpful, and after a day we really felt as though we were staying with friends.
Breakfasts were taken in the Breakfast Room with a stunning view across Loch Erisort -- our first breakfast was interrupted by Bernie inviting us into the car park to see a passing golden eagle! And what breakfasts they serve ... the "Lewis special" had to be seen to believed, and the kippers were delicious.
Evening meals can be taken in the bar (lively at weekends!) or the restaurant-cum-lounge, and are home-made, with local fish and other produce.
All-in-all it would be hard to better the service that Bernie and Geraldine provide ... I hope others find it as enjoyable a place to stay as we did.

“A real treat in Lewis”

Loch Erisort Inn

Jul 7, 2008

I have just returned from a week long work related stay on the Isle of Lewis. I travel quite alot with my job and stay in a variety of accomodation. I can safely say this is one of the nicest B&Bs I have ever stayed in. The rooms must have been done up recently because they were sparkling clean and the showers were great. Vital if you're out all day on the hills. The bar was cosy and friendly and a lot of time was put in working our way through the local ales.
A special mention must go to the food which was spectacular every night. If the hand dived scallops are on the menu when you visit, its a must. One of the tastiest meals I've ever had.
Fingers crossed I'll be able to return soon.
Cheers for a great stay.

“Stay here when visiting Lewis”

Loch Erisort Inn

Jul 7, 2008

We enjoyed a thoroughly pleasant stay with Bernie and Geraldine at this comfy spot on Lewis. There's not a huge choice of hotels in the Hebrides it's true but this inn is certainly worth a detour for anyone not expecting city centre amenities. Recommended.

Spent 2 days here whilst travelling round isles of Lewis and Harris. Rooms are lovely, recently renovated. Meals are good value and tasty, topped off with a friendly lively bar all set in a lovely location. We'll definitely be returning.

We were very pleased to see these 2 lovely reviews and, by deduction, we know who wrote them! Can I say that you were wonderful guests whom it was a joy to have in our wee inn!

“A great find”

This hotel is a wonderful discovery. It is a real country inn run by wonderfully kind and friendly people who immediately make you feel right at home. Your bedroom is warm, spacious and comfortable, with a huge bathroom. But the best bit comes when you sit down for breakfast. The food is utterly delicious - top quality local ingredients cooked to perfection, and a wide choice of cereals, juices and yoghurts. And the evening meals are even better. The seafood in particular is all you could hope for - mouthwatering scallops, cod, monkfish, herring - and everything else is just as good. And the prices are modest. We had a wonderful three days there and would recommend it to anyone.
