Comments : Had a fantastic stay, was made to feel so welcome by Martin and Amanda , our room was just wonderful as my husband is disabled he was able to get around in his wheelchair and use the bathroom without any bother. the room was so comfortable and accessable , we have never slept in such comfortable beds anywhere - it makes quite a difference to your holiday ti have a good nights rest ,and the breakfast was excellent nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were so helpful and pleasant every morning- we will certainly come again soon. thanks to you all for a wonderful stay Cath and Mike Critchlow

“Fantastic!”

Craigatin House & Courtyard

Sep 7, 2008

We stayed at Craigatin House for three nights. Absolutely fantastic and excellent value.

It is situated in a quite location within lovely grounds, but only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of Pitlochry.

Following a very friendly welcome, we were shown to our room, which was beautifully furnished, comfortable and spotlessly clean, as was the whole place, inside and out. Nice touches included bottles of mineral water, coffee, a variety of teas and biscuits in the room - all of which were replenished each day.

The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was excellent, with a modern powerful shower. Everything had been thought of, from complementary toiletries to ample hangers in the wardrobes.

Excellent choice at breakfast. Cooked fresh to order and the Omelette Arnold Bennett was delicious.

All in all a very stylish, modern and contemporary establishment which has been blended in cleverly within the traditional character of the property.

Craigatin House has set a standard that in my experience, a lot of expensive hotels regularly fail to achieve.

Having inadvertently left some personal items behind, they very kindly offered to box them up and forward them on.

We will be in Pitlochry again next year and would not now consider staying anywhere else in the area, so have already booked with them.

“Perfect Wedding”

Craigatin House & Courtyard

After choosing Pitlochry Town Hall as the venue for our Wedding reception, we turned to TripAdvisor to help us find accommodation for ourselves and our guests. The outstanding reviews of Craigatin House and Courtyard caught our attention and what we found on our first visit certainly exceeded our expectations. We loved the elegant setting of the house which is set back from the road on its own tree-lined drive. Owners Martin and Andrea gave us a warm welcome and made us a cup of tea while we sat to discuss our plans. We had read of another couple who had block-booked all of the rooms for 2 nights around the date of their wedding and had invited some of their friends to the house for a small reception the night before. This appealed to us as many of our friends would be visiting us from abroad and we wanted to have as much time to see them as possible. Martin was extremely practical about things and never dismissed any of our ideas but instead was keen to work with us to ensure that our plans could be accommodated by the house and staff. Martin then showed us around the house and we saw that the beautiful interiors and quality fittings extended not just through the dining room and conservatory but through each of the boutique-style bedrooms, all with en-suite. We finished up by walking out into their lovely garden and at this point another idea struck. Would it be possible to get married in the Garden? Did we dare ask? Well, needless to say we did ask, and just over 6 months later our plans were realised and we were married in a Humanist Ceremony at Craigatin on a beautiful sunny day. The space was perfect for us but weather was a major concern as Craigatin could not have accommodated our numbers indoors. After the ceremony and pictures in the garden, the wedding party and all of our guests walked the half mile to the Town Hall for our Wedding Feast and Ceilidh. We cannot thank Craigatin enough for making our wedding so special. I haven’t even mentioned how comfortable the beds were or how yummy the breakfast was (the porridge with cream, whisky and brown sugar is truly, out-of-this-world delicous!) but you can trust that what you read in the other reviews is entirely true. This place is a real gem. We’ve already booked ourselves in for two nights next year for our 1st Anniversary.

Saw this B & B last year and decided to return to Pitlochry 3 Aug for a few days this year. Absolute "gem". The beautiful entrance and grounds only enhanced a lovely building. We were met by Andrea who was very warm and friendly as were all of the staff. Our bedroom (in the courtyard) was large and tastefully decorated and what a delight to have coffee on the terrace on an afternoon after a good day's walking. We tried breakfast both in the conservatory and dining room, didn't really matter as both were very relaxing, Breakfast itself could have last all day for me!!!! Yummy!!! A definite return trip and one to pass on to family and friends.
