“Great value for money hard to fault”

Innkeeper's Lodge A9 (Huntingtower)

4 of 5 stars
edinburgh
Jun 20, 2008

We have stayed at Innkeepers lodge around the country many times and for a low cost hotel they are hard to fault. If you book in advance you can get a family room for £29.99 this includes free breakfast for 4. I find them much nicer than Travelodge and they work out much much cheaper especially if you have to eat at Little Chef.
The Innkeepers lodge at Perth is clean and has a nice inn located next door where you can eat. The staff there were friendly and there was a nice outside space to eat. Rooms were clean and modern and they supply you with toiletries you may have forgotten. Room has everything you may need for short stay inc tea and coffee facilities.
Bathroom modern and clean with large shower ( no bath)
Location might put some people off as it is on outskirts of town next to usual complex of Tesco, B&Q and Dobbies and on the A9. I had read that some peole found it noisy but have to say we weren't disturbed at all.
Breakfast next day was great- all you can eat buffet with great selection

“Fantastic if you have a car”

Innkeeper's Lodge A9 (Huntingtower)

This is the first time we’ve tried the Inn Keepers Lodge brand and we will definitely consider it again. Booked it for a wedding at the close by Huntingtower Hotel at a special weekend rate of three nights for the price of two. Even though we didn’t stay the Sunday night it was useful to have the room as long as we wanted on Sunday to sleep off any potential hangover before driving back home late afternoon.

Initial impressions were gloomy but once checked in at the nearby Glover Arms pub we made our may to the room and were hugely impressed. Very cosy; 20 inch flat screen TV, modern furniture, beautiful bathroom with lovely walk in power shower, coffee/tea, hair dryer and reasonable storage (enough for a long weekend at least)

The service staff was superb, not disturbing us until our ‘sleeping’ sign had been removed. Breakfast was very good, served in the nearby Glover Arms. Plenty of fresh juices and fruits as well as cereal and toast options.

Excellent location just off the Edinburgh Perth motorway, ideal if coming by car. Perth city centre is an easy 3 mile straight run and there is a huge Tesco and B&Q in easy walking distance as well as a Dobies Garden Centre and Edinburgh Woollen Mill just at the back (if you’re into that sort of thing)

After this experience I will always check the local Inn Keepers Lodge option as well the usual Travelodge, Holiday Inn Express and Ibis offerings. The free parking is also an important deciding factor. Essentially these places are aimed at those arriving by car and offer a less stressful alternative to city centre stays.

“Better than a Travelodge”

Innkeeper's Lodge A9 (Huntingtower)

Feb 9, 2008

Staff friendly and always smiling. Room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was included and served in the neighbouring Glover Arms. This was more than adequate.

This is a good budget hotel compared to other chains of similar price.

“Disgusting”

Innkeeper's Lodge A9 (Huntingtower)

Dec 15, 2007

Restaurant a shambles. Both my friend and I had a pasta dish which was both cold and bland. Satff very unhelpful and not inviting.
To top it all, we experienced a member of staff (returning?) from a staff party and peeing on our car!!! Absolutely disgusting. I shall never return to this chain of hotels, and advise those in search of accommodation to seek elsewhere. Avoid like the plague!

“Excellent Value for Money”

Innkeeper's Lodge A9 (Huntingtower)

4 of 5 stars
North West England
Oct 10, 2007

Part of the Innkeeper's Lodge chain, this new lodge is situated on the edge of Perth. It takes about 5-10 minutes to drive into town.

Our room was of a good size, and very clean, with comfortable beds and a good continental breakfast included in the price.

You require a car for this location, and it provides good access for trips in the local area.

Excellent value for money.
