Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant

We found this place on the basis of the food reviews, and they were right! Delicious seasonal, local produce made into fabulous dinners - this is the highlight of Old Pines. The owners are a lovely, hard working couple with a high attention to detail. There is a comfortable, homely lounge area with log fire for those chilly winter nights, and tea, coffee and drinks are served in there with music playing in the backround and plenty books for you to flick through.
The rooms are pleasant and comfortable, although we found our room a little on the small side, but with the lounge area you don't have to worry as you have somewhere to relax outwith your room anyway. There are TV/DVDs in the rooms so you can chill out and watch a movie (they have a selection for you to choose from) if the dark, winter nights keep you in.
Only down side for our stay was that someone didn't notify the proprietors that they were going out, so when these guests returned they were locked out, and kept ringing the door bell which was located in the office next door to our room - so we were woken up at 2am! Grrrr. So, make sure you tell them if you are going out in the evening - although why you would want to leave the place, I don't know!! A lovely country home from home!

I recently took my boyfriend to Scotland to celebrate his Birthday. I was looking for a hotel near the Commando Memorial in Speen Bridge and I couldn't have found a more perfect hotel.

Old Pines is a small family run hotel, the quality of service is intimate and setting overlooking Ben Nevis is something special.

A MUST is dinning in the restaruant, the food is superb and they also cater for vegetarians as well.

I truly lovely hotel which made a lovely short break to Scotland even more special.

“Great hotel”

Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant

Oct 31, 2007

Stayed here for 2 nights with 6 adults, 4 children and 1 dog.(no charge for dog which is unusual but how it should be)The food was first class, rooms well furnished with nice little touches like hand made biscuits to have with your coffee. The staff were very attentive but also very discreet which was nice.
If you like peace and quiet in a lovley setting with great views, this hotel would make a great choice.

“Home In the Country”

Old Pines Hotel and Restaurant

Jul 7, 2007

Old Pines Bed and Breakfast in Spean Bridge, Scotland is a rural B and B set in the most beautiful setting. It looks out onto Ben Nevis and a pasture of sheep and cattle. It is set in a grove of pine trees and the hospitality is warm, welcoming, and very attentive. The rooms are well appointed and the staff are eager to help when and where needed. The use of the computer is also a real asset in that it makes it easy to confirm future reservation, confirmations , or to check on places to see or go. In addition, it is within easy walking distance of the Commando Memorial, and the road access to go to Fort William is very easy to reach should you want a "Hogwart / Jacobite Steam Train Trip"
All in All our stay and experience was wonderful and very relaxing.
