To the reviewer concerned about the "new" management...NOT to worry! This place is a true FIND! The couple now managing are friends of the owner and have taken over after the previous management left the place in disrepair. The woman who is managing and the owner are absolutely the warmest and most wonderful people we met! The house is undergoing major cleaning with replacement of beds, carpet etc.
The location is terrific, the people magnificent and the hospitality unsurpassed!

I agree with the reviews that recommend this guest house. Once you find a parking space (limited in the area) you won't need to move your car till you are ready to load your suitcases.

Rooms are European small and there are stairs, but that won't be an issue for most folks. Half a block from a wonderful view of the beach area and a couple more blocks to the practice green and #1 T at the Old Course.

Close to lots of pubs, shopping, and Golf. what more could you ask for in St. Andrews?

Our room was comfortable and very clean and the proprietor was great. Bad news is they apparently plan to give the Bell Craig House up soon and new people will operate it.

A+ for value.

A well located Hotel being only a 7 iron from the Old course 1st tee. A similar distance to the town centre where you can find a number of relaxing
pubs and restaurants. The hotel was clean and comfortable, but its main asset is the friendliness
of the proprietor's Jennie & Darren. Like previous
reviewers I found that they could not do enough
for you and nothing was too much trouble.
Will not hesitate to go back to Bell Craig on my return to St Andrews.

I stayed at the Bell Craig on my first trip to Scotland in June, 03. I was pleasantly surprised at the accomodations and the atmosphere. Since thiswas a golf holiday, I did not spend a lot of time in my room, but the time I spent there was fine. The room ws clean and breakfast was wonderful. I would highly recommend the Bell Craig to anyone wanting a clean, quiet, friendly place to stay in St. Andrews. The location can't be beat, a 5 minute walk from the old Course and 10 minutes from the Castle and Cathedral. I will make every attempt to stay at the Bell Craig on my next trip to St. Andrews.
