This is a lovely gastropub with a difference in that all the rooms are named after characters in the board game Cluedo. It wasn't made clear why and the only clues as to each room's identity were their names and the colour of the walls.

Neverthess, our room was very cosy, the bed comfy, and the old fashioned bathtub superb.

All of the staff were friendly and the dinner and breakfast were good.

In a lovely country location, but close to lots of "attractions" in the area.

Right from booking the hotel, to enjoying the actually weekend - the Fox and Goose was just brilliant - especially the staff. I booked the Miss Scarlet Boudoir for my boyfriend’s birthday and we had a fab and relaxed evening. The bedroom was lovely - all decked out in the sumptuous colour of scarlet - of course! - with a fabulously large, claw-foot bath and huge mirror very theatrically placed within the bathroom. The large mugs and fresh coffee were a great added extra. The meal was without fault and at a very good price. We had a three course meal each, two bottles of house red, bottle of still water and coffees and it came to £87 - not bad, especially considering the wonderful restaurant and ambience you were surrounded in.
The food itself was cooked to perfection, as was the full English breakfast the next morning.
All in all, a definite hide away to take your loved one away for a very special treat. Stratford is only a few miles down the road, as are the Cotswolds. A perfect getaway with great sights, flavours and friendly staff.

on the night of my wedding day, i had a small niggling doubt as to where my new husband would be taking me for the night. the day had been a great success and i was hoping that the night would follow suit.
we arrived at the Fox and Goose at about 1am to find the staff still working and readily welcomed us and offered us a nightcap, or 'maybe just a cuppa?'
Our room had been decorated with rose petals, congratulations was written on the door and champagne was on ice in the room. The staff had thoughfully provided a hamper, filled with cereal, croissants, bread (& a toaster!) juice, etc.....we didn't have to leave the room!
it was a great beginning to our life together.

Recently spent a night at The Fox and Goose, and had a wonderful night. Miss Scarlet's Boudoir was a delight, with plush velvet and very comfortable bed. Claw footed bath and candles, along with massive full length mirror, CD, DVD player and mini fridge are thoughtful extras, as are the mugs for coffee. Staff are really friendly, pleasant, and will go out of their way to accomodate you. Thanks for a wonderful night.
