“A really pleasant place to stay”

Penryn Guest House

We stayed here for 2 nights paying a lttle exta for a superior room, which was an individual building in the garden. We loved the fact that we had the seclusion and privacy of our own annexe but were still able to feel 'at home' within the house.

The owners were helpful and friendly, bringing us fresh tea and home baked cakes on arrival. They had also gone to the trouble of putting together instructions for a couple of walks into Stratford to take in the scenic route's (Anne Hathaway's cottage on one). We were also given a money off voucher for Shakespears cottage.

The room iteslf was comfortable and very clean. The free wi-fi was a bonus. Breakfast was outstanding and the awards this guest house has won in that area are thoroughly deserved

The only slight down side was the distance into Stratford. We timed it at a 30 minute walk to the centre, which is fine normally but as we tended to walk around all day it was a bit of a hike back to get changed for dinner then return to the centre.

Overall a really pleasant stay

My daughter and I spent two lovely nights in the superior twin room at the Penryn House. We enjoyed the quiet and the extra seating area.
The bathroom was very clean and roomy. The beds were the most comfortable that we had while we were on our two week trip. The proprietors are friendly and extremely helpful...giving us a map and tips about things to do in town upon our arrival. We had a ten to fifteen minute delightful walk from the train station to the Penryn House. It was very easy to get to. The beds were the most comfortable
that we had while we were on our two week trip. The morning we left, we were allowed to leave our luggage at the guest house while we did some sightseeing before our train left. I hope I'm in the area again so that I can return! Thank you for a great stay.

We found this guest house just by driving past and managed to get a room for the night. The double room was spacious with very comfortable bed and well stocked refreshment tray. The ensuite shower room was a good size and very clean. The breakfast was excellent better than some expensive hotels and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The whole house was beautifully decorated with lovely soft furnishings. Our room overlooked the main road but the traffic at night was very light and didn't disturb our sleep at all. Very short car ride into the centre of Stratford. We would highly recommend it, and would stay there again.

When I was younger and more mobile I visited Stratford numerous times. When my husband & I visited this time, I was a little apprehensive as I now have limited mobility. The great joy of this historic town is that is small enough for visitors to stroll around, to view all the various attractions. When I booked with Penryn I expressed my concerns to Anne and she immediately offered to book an electric 'scooter' for me from Shopmobility in Stratford. It cost just £10 for a week (or free for just a day) and was FANTASTIC! We were able to walk into and around town (well actually I didn't walk, but you know what I mean), and it transformed our stay. As a disabled person I have never been given such practical help at any hotel I have stayed at. We had a ground floor, spacious room that was immaculately presented. Breakfast was a joy - the cooked breakfast was excellent, but for me the best part was the wonderful variety of fresh fruit that was offered. Robert & Anne couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. As I said - Can't be bettered!!

Penryn is a lovely guest house offering such a wonderful home from home welcome for the weary traveller. On arrive tea and home made cakes appeared as if by magic together with a brilliant street map and Anne highlighted the places of interest to ensure we saw the very best of this beautiful town as well as recommending an excellent restaurant for dinner. We really were so well looked after at Penryn that we are already planning our next visit. We chose one of the superior rooms which had a really nice seating area to relax in and the experience of Stratford on Avon was rounded off by the most amazing breakfast. Throughout our travels Penryn offered the widest choice of fresh fruit and the lavender shortbread was totally addictive! We cannot wait to return.
