Having stayed at Best Westerns across the UK and abroad we thought we would book for a 1 night stay in Stratford Upon Avon and visit the theatre. We booked an executive double room and on entering we noticed there were food crumbs over the beds, phone books and hotel information thrown, bins not emptied. We went into the bathroom and there was cleaning fluid in the sink, the toilet had been used and not been flushed and the towels had not been changed. We went to reception who advised us that we would have to change room and the they only had a standard double room left. This room was like a shoe box, but clean. We went down to breakfast the following morning and it was pure chaos. Tables were full of used dishes and people were asking where their breakfasts were. A waitress approached us and abruptly told us "you will just have to wait, we are very busy", a good morning would of been nice. We decided to leave breakfast and checked out. We enjoyed a lovely leisurely breakfast in a cafe opposite Shakespere birthplace.

Myself and my husband stayed at this hotel and attended the murder mystery event taking place there which was run within but independently of the hotel by a company called Skulduggery. The hotel is in a great location for touring Stratford - within easy walking distance of the town centre attractions and the RSC. Breakfast was excellent, a real treat and the evening meal (which was included within the murder mystery package) was fantastic. All of the staff were friendly and courteous and managed to continue with their jobs despite the murder mystery mayhem unfolding around them. We would definitely recommend the hotel both independently of and together with the murder mystery event to those wanting a great base to explore Stratford and those wanting great entertainment in a fantastic location.

Stayed here for 2 nights in mid-April. Everything about the hotel was excellent. The hotel is within 5 minues of the town centre. All the staff were polite and helpful. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Breakfast was good. If your looking for a good quality hotel near the town centre then look no further. I would definately stay here again.

We stayed in Sept 07 in a double room. You really can't beat the location of this hotel, right in the middle of town but on a side road, so far enough out of the way! Perfect walking distance to shops, attraction, restaurants, etc.

Good parking, we never had a problem getting apark and the front desk service was great. Didn't eat at the restaurant, seemed a bit pricey.

The room was very clean, which is all I ever ask for, however to be honest it was not very modern and I would have felt more comfortable in a renovated room, but as I said it was very clean.
