“Very Nice Hotel”

Waldorf Hilton

May 12, 2008

I stayed at the Waldorf for a conference my firm was hosting and I think the hotel did a stand up job helping us through it and would recommend it as a conference venue. Because it was a business trip, I can't comment on value as I'm not sure what my bill was (yes, if only I had that luxury everytime!).

However, it's a very polished and distinguished looked hotel from the inside and outside. And it's located in a good location. You can walk to a lot of different sites and areas. Subways are close by too.

The room was your standard room but had more than ample space and definitely felt roomy. The hotel restaurant was good (although, it wasn't very busy) and I found the hotel bar to be a nice place to have some drinks too. I ordered room service on an occassion as well and found the food to be good too. The business centre was well equiped (free printing functionality) and was open 24 hours (I needed it too). Unfortunately, I did not manage to try any of the facilities (gym etc.).

The Waldorf definitely has the 'wow' factor (as demonstrated when I told a friend of mine who lives in London to pick me up at the Waldorf and he said 'wow'). Unforunately, I believe it is quite pricey but if you can expense it or afford it I'd recommend it.

“Lovely Hotel, Great Location”

Waldorf Hilton

5 of 5 stars
Northern Illinois
May 12, 2008

We enjoyed two nights at the Waldorf in London. The room was tastefully decorated with upgraded amenities, flatscreen tv, desk, and very comfortable bed. The staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. As a Hilton Honors Gold member, breakfast in the restaurant was included and delicious but at 22 British Pounds or roughly $40 USD pp, we would have skipped it for something more economical if it wasn't part of our package. We didn't have time to take advantage of any of the fitness center or pool as we were spending all of our time enjoying the fantastic weather London was having.

The location was terrific. About a 5 min walk to the Temple Underground station and close to the touristy sites we wanted to see. There were lots of restaurants and pubs nearby as it is just on the edge of Covent Gardens.

I would recommend and would stay again.

“Disappointed”

Waldorf Hilton

May 11, 2008

We recently visited New York and stayed at the New York Hilton and was so impressed we decided to stay at the Waldorf Hilton during our visit to London.

However, although the location was good and the exterior looked very impressive when we reached our room after a quick check in we were very disappointed with the room.

It was very very small, very very dark with broken curtain pulley so couldn't open the curtains. The bathroom was a decent size however the plughole was dirty!!

After a fantasic show (Dirty Dancing highly recommened) we had a pretty comfortable night in the comfy bed we were looking forward to our breakfast.

Again, we were disappointed. We had to ask for toast which should have been brought to our table automatically, and although there was plenty of variety of food it was only just warm.

While I would stay at the hotel in New York again I don't think I would stay here for more than one night.

“Loved it”

Waldorf Hilton

May 11, 2008

The hotel is perfectly located in the centre of the theatre land. We had an amazing room, with access to the executive lounge, which was amazing, worth paying the extra bid just to get access to the lounge. Staff was very helpful and nothing was too much for them. Especially reception desk was amazing!!!

“Splendid Hotel”

Waldorf Hilton

This hotel is touted as a luxuary 5* hoetl. Well it is, From the moment I entered to the moment we left we loved it. The staff are excellent, the facilities are great and the food hall along with the food was fantastic. The only gripe I have really seen on here were that the rooms were a bit small. We stayed in a standard room, and yes they are not the biggest but well designed and had plenty of room. Its location is excellent for most theatre shows and shopping or eating in Convent Garden and the underground is a five minute walk, I'd advise a taxi to get there first.
