I had read good and bad reviews so went to the Ramada with an open mind.
The hotel receiption was a bit dark and gloomy, and the floor creaked while we walked around, so I wondered what was in store. However, the room was bright and had what you would expect for a hotel room,(TV, desk, chair, matching furniture and en-suite) but no mini bar. Our room outlook was to a side street, I am too tight to pay for a sea view!
Hotel position is good, its away from the heart of Brighton (by the Pier), but is within a 5 minute walk away. Close enough, but without the noise of hen/stag parties. Hotel is right opposite the beach.
Staff were helpful and cheerful, most were eastern european but had a good command of english.
Our break included dinner on the first night. The service and quality of the food was excellent, it came out quickly and was piping hot and tasty. Breakfast in the morning was plentyful, with tea/coffee and toast served in a timely manner. The breakfast was self serve and you could refill your plate - not good if you are watching your weight!
In total we paid £130 for 2 nights B&B plus first nights evening meal, and it was worth every penny (especially if you work out the individual cost of everything). I was aware of the £15 per night parking cost, so this was no surprise to me.
