The Hotel was very warm and cozy. Within steps of everywhere we wanted to go. I was traveling with my elderly Mother and other family members. The Hotel Staff helped my Mother with all of her needs and made us feel at home. The Hotel was clean and very well kept and the rooms, although smaller than by U.S standards, were well laid out and comfortable. I will stay at this Hotel anytime I am in Quebec.

“Welcoming and Warm Hotel”

We had a delightful stay at the Sainte-Anne last weekend. We were in and out because of the great location. Do a little shopping, drop off the bags. Go sightseeing, stop by the hotel to pick up whatever was left behind. Museums in the afternoon, back to the hotel to change for dinner.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Their knowledge about local sites was refreshing, and they were full of ideas to help make sure our stay in Quebec City was a memorable experience. My mother wanted to revisit a library she had gone to 7 or 8 years ago, but no one seemed to be able to help her find it again by her description. But they did some research for us and found it!

The continental breakfasts that were included were great, but we also upgraded to the Eggs Benedict a couple of days: yummy! We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and were very pleased. Delicious food, great service, and must have desserts!

Considering that the building is 325 years old, I was surprised to find it very modern, with some original stone work expossed. After the initial surprise, we found it to be quite comfortable. Some drawers would have been welcome, but the bed was quite comfortable, and the shower roomy and hot (although the glass wall surprised, it did not disappoint). There were two chairs for sitting, but we also used the small sitting area by the front desk for afternoon journaling and reading.

My husband and I, and my parents-in-law just returned from a three night stay at the Hotel Sainte Anne. First and foremost, the location is excellent. The hotel is literally, steps from the Chateau and the funiculare to the lower part of the city. We were however, disappointed by our room. It was very small and cramped, and had a bizarre twist. There was a floor to ceiling partially-smoked window in our shower that allowed for anyone sitting on the bed,(the only place to sit) to view a person taking a shower. Our window looked out to a wall. Don't let them give you Room 407! Our parents were in Room 402 and had a delightful room with exposed beams and a view of the street. When we asked about the difference, we were told that we had asked for a "standard room" , and that our parents had a "superior room." They also told us that any standard room only looks out on the wall. The price for the two rooms was the exact same, so make sure you ask for a superior room! The staff was friendly but service was spotty. Overall, we had a very nice time.

“Quaint and Contemporary in Old Quebec City”

My husband and I just got back from a two night stay at this hotel. We were a bit shocked that there wasn't any entrance to pull our car to-we knew the hotel was on a pedestrian street, but thought there would be a back alley or something. There was an underground parking garage close by, but being that we were on a two week jaunt thru Canada our bags were quite large and cumbersome. That was really the only drawback to the whole experience.

Once we were settled, we were quite pleased with the size and ambiance of our room. It was modern, but comfortable. The large glass shower in the bathroom was great. Also, the complimentary continental breakfast each morning in the dining area was pleasant.

Despite the initial inconvenience, we loved the location of the hotel on the small, cobblestone street. It was picturesque and lively. We really enjoyed it as our home base for all of the walking and exploring we did each day.

We highly recommend it as long as you aren't trying to drag in a large amount of baggage : )

“Nice 2-star hotel w/great location but falls short of a 3-star as advertised”

This small, trendy hotel is ideally located on a charming cobbled-stone pedestrian in the "upper city" at the Place d'Armes (where the artist alley, finiculiar, Chateau Frontenac & tourist office are located.) The rooms minimalistic decor are intended to portray a chic, boutique-style hotel but fall short as the rooms lacks function. A multi-functional unit in the room that serves as a desk-bar-armoire but the storage space is very limited and accomodates about 4-5 clothes hangers. Although other reviewers had noted this shortcoming, I thought it would not be an issue for a short stay. However, after two days we found it very annoying due to the room configuration and furniture placement which restricts movement and makes the option of "living out of a suitcase" impractical.

On the plus side, the beds were very comfortable, the shower terrific, the location superb and the staff cordial - but unfortunately the hotel lacks the qualities seasoned lesiure or business travellers would expect from a 3-star hotel in a comparable price range.

As a former hotelier, I tend to be more cognizant of how a hotel is run operationally from F&B to rooms and found that the rooms and public areas had not been properly cleaned or maintained in what is essentially a new property - a shame for a small property with great potential and location.
