We had a delightful stay at the Sainte-Anne last weekend. We were in and out because of the great location. Do a little shopping, drop off the bags. Go sightseeing, stop by the hotel to pick up whatever was left behind. Museums in the afternoon, back to the hotel to change for dinner.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Their knowledge about local sites was refreshing, and they were full of ideas to help make sure our stay in Quebec City was a memorable experience. My mother wanted to revisit a library she had gone to 7 or 8 years ago, but no one seemed to be able to help her find it again by her description. But they did some research for us and found it!
The continental breakfasts that were included were great, but we also upgraded to the Eggs Benedict a couple of days: yummy! We had dinner one night in the hotel restaurant and were very pleased. Delicious food, great service, and must have desserts!
Considering that the building is 325 years old, I was surprised to find it very modern, with some original stone work expossed. After the initial surprise, we found it to be quite comfortable. Some drawers would have been welcome, but the bed was quite comfortable, and the shower roomy and hot (although the glass wall surprised, it did not disappoint). There were two chairs for sitting, but we also used the small sitting area by the front desk for afternoon journaling and reading.
