I stayed in this hotel for the duration of the Outdoor Adventure Show. Overall it was very nice and VERY clean—once we got a proper room. The first room we stepped into was SOAKED and smelly. What I gathered was there was some sort of party and the room was still drying out. OK, no big deal, mistakes are made.

The room we ended up was very, very nice. Clean, nice towels and bathroom. Nice flat screen tv. The beds are awesome in every regard. Very comfortable and clean. These beds had the cleanest-looking linens I've ever seen in any hotel. Comforters and all. And the comforters are white.

The wi-fi access is way too expensive which is irritating. And the parking lot was the worst! I couldn't believe the amount of snow and ice that had been left in that lot. We got out of the car and my son immediately slipped and fell. I can understand if it had just been snowing but it was my understanding that all the snow and ice were from a couple weeks prior.

The workout room was also very nice with modern equipment.

“Mixed feelings on the Westin...”

Westin Bristol Place Toronto Airport

When I think of the name WESTIN, I expect that it is going to be a GREAT hotel. Otherwise I would stay at the HoJo, Best Western, or a Holiday Inn.

Unfortunately I don't believe this truly lived up to my expectations.

We arrived at this hotel after flying back into the country. We were met with a messy unplowed parking lot which was from a storm 2 days earlier! Then we learned it is $14 to park in this disaster area. I ended up parking 4 rows out in a spot where I felt I wouldn't be stuck when I went to leave. Again - NOT what I would expect from a Westin. I explained this to both the Bellman when we entered, and the Customer Service Manager at checkin, and again at checkout. All of it laughed off or fluffed off.

The room itself was quite nice. The only "minor" issue was when you are in the tub you see all the pipes underneath the sink - I can't figure out why they would not cover that counter area up!

The bed was great, the LG LCD tv excellent, and overall felt very comfy.

Immediately after checkin my wife called down to the front desk to request a late checkout of 4pm and was told this would be taken care of. Then the day of we were questioned by them on the phone after Noon, and again a tap on the door from the maid around 1pm. Apparently no one got the message?!

As well I am a Starwood Preferred Guest. I was never offered any Starwood room, upgrades, anything.... Everytime I have stayed at a Sheraton (same Starwood Group), I was always treated better.

Would I go back - SURE if the price was right. However hard to justify in excess of $200 for a night for mediocore service.

“Best choice on Dixon Road”

I moved to this hotel after one disapointing night at another hotel on Dixon Rd because I trusted the good trip advisor review. And I spoiled myself with a suite.
I agree with others that the renovation has been great. The wood panelling and flat pannel TVs give it a very modern look. The suite size was beyond my expectation. I had been looking for a junior suite with a separate couch - the suite features a dining room with table for at least 6 and a huge living room. I had breakfast every morning and could organize good work on the table.
I used the gym every day and, although it is small, it has adequate equipment and was not busy early in the morning. I only had a quick look at the pool which seems nice with good sun light. Unfortunately the gym and the pool don't connect - something I appreciate when it is available.
I did not use the restaurant but enjoyed the adjacent tex/mex and particularly the steak house across the street where we had good group dinners.

    • Disliked — As all airport hotel it is far from nicer downtown Toronto or Yorkville nicer locations, so I would not recommend it for tourists

“Much Better than before”

Westin Bristol Place Toronto Airport

I had stayed here a few times when it was the Wyndham and was so disappointed that I refussed to have my organization book me there again. So when I was informed I was staying there again I was a little concerned.

I am happy to say it is completely different.

Room is a great size, and lots of room to store things. Their new air
conditioning/heating works wonders, as this was always a problem before. I found the ac to be very quiet and efficient.

Bedding is like sleeping on a dream. I did encounter one problem and that was that the duvet cover was filthy, dirty and marks all over it, and some blood where it looks like someone may have cut themselves. A quick call to housekeeping go the duvet changed.

Every room has a flat panel LCD and large desk. I was disappointed that you couldn't get free internet, but I purchased it for $12.50 for 24 hours. I believe you can get it in the lobby with wireless for
free.

Bathrooms have been renovated but you can tell this is an older hotel. My one observation was they renovated all these rooms; but they didn't replace the doors to the rooms or the closet/bathroom doors. Your room door slams shut and you can hear everyone else's room door slam too. The elevators are old and slow still.

Breakfast in the restaurant was quite good and service was great. I had the buffet for around $20 which included hot food, if you just get cold food it is cheaper.

Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful with any questions I had. The shuttle is very efficient, but unless you know that you have
to phone the hotel to get them to pick you up at the airport you could wait for a while.

Overall this hotel is great and I look forward to staying here again.

“This hotel is now a Westin - nicest hotel near Toronto airport”

My meeting was at the Renaissance, but it was booked, so I stayed at the Westin. I remember this hotel used to be the Wyndham, but I don't know when it changed. The room I had was on the small side, but very nicely furnished and it was renovated. My only complaint in the room was that there was no desk! When I told the check-in clerk, he informed me that since this room is a different shape, they need a special shaped desk, which hasn't arrived yet.

Mini bar is absolutely outrageously priced, so avoid! Nice LCD TV on the wall! There is a pool and fitness, but I didn't check it out.

Parking is $14/day

Restaurant - I had the breakfast buffet for $14 - it was fantastic, tons of fresh fruit, oatmeal, all the hot dishes you expect, and served til 11 am.

Overall I think this hotel is great, and definitely my first choice for the Toronto airport area.
