When I think of the name WESTIN, I expect that it is going to be a GREAT hotel. Otherwise I would stay at the HoJo, Best Western, or a Holiday Inn.
Unfortunately I don't believe this truly lived up to my expectations.
We arrived at this hotel after flying back into the country. We were met with a messy unplowed parking lot which was from a storm 2 days earlier! Then we learned it is $14 to park in this disaster area. I ended up parking 4 rows out in a spot where I felt I wouldn't be stuck when I went to leave. Again - NOT what I would expect from a Westin. I explained this to both the Bellman when we entered, and the Customer Service Manager at checkin, and again at checkout. All of it laughed off or fluffed off.
The room itself was quite nice. The only "minor" issue was when you are in the tub you see all the pipes underneath the sink - I can't figure out why they would not cover that counter area up!
The bed was great, the LG LCD tv excellent, and overall felt very comfy.
Immediately after checkin my wife called down to the front desk to request a late checkout of 4pm and was told this would be taken care of. Then the day of we were questioned by them on the phone after Noon, and again a tap on the door from the maid around 1pm. Apparently no one got the message?!
As well I am a Starwood Preferred Guest. I was never offered any Starwood room, upgrades, anything.... Everytime I have stayed at a Sheraton (same Starwood Group), I was always treated better.
Would I go back - SURE if the price was right. However hard to justify in excess of $200 for a night for mediocore service.
